Wishing everyone a happy Thanksgiving I just wanted to share what I am grateful for. What are you thankful for? 🧡

Your fave song and the story behind why?
I love getting to know people through their favourite music and why it is for them! I’ll start - https://youtu.be/geZ_5Ri7ANg?si=Jwn1fcQT41c3Akte Rock n roll - eden. Explains my feeling of wanting to be thoroughly used up by life, yet balancing the sensation of feeling lost and misunderstood in trying to do life differently. ‘I ain’t scared of living’ is like a lifeline for me. And the ‘I’m not worried about you’ convo at the end hits a soft spot. I can’t help but also share https://youtu.be/EwI-Ttci9qQ?si=wBBarI6LMf7g31Kb this INSANE new beatbox that tickles my brain. I promise you’ll feel it in your bones And https://youtu.be/zBgHSPUv_8g?si=wezWkCaJDMPrtJYs bittersweet symphony - luca stricagnoli is the epitome of flow state. It quiets my brain and helps me revisit a sense of awe for people’s capacity for creativity in life! Can’t wait to hear yours!

@Deleted Thank you! I’ve always been a deep thinker and put a lot of thought into what I share. Yes music has always been one of the greatest gifts in this life. As a teen the local metal and hardcore scene kept me out of trouble and later became an outlet when I joined a hardcore band and started screaming into a mic. I used music to express and release emotions and feelings and I continued to use that outlet into my mid twenties. It's been sometime since I've been involved in music but if I found the right people I'd dive back into it haha! Music has a way of touching and connecting people from all walks of life and it's truly a gift. It's so powerful how melodies and songs can take you back and connect you to memories even with those no longer with us. Jon Gomm is so talented and the song is beautiful musically and lyrically. Thank you for your kind words, Olivia was such a wonderful friend and that friendship we had will always be something I cherish and will always remain in my heart until I am no longer on this earth. My Spotify is one of the most vast variety of genres and styles 😂 on shuffle it can go from 80-90’s Country, Gospel, Classical, Jazz, death metal, Rock, Pop, Punk and anytying in between. My personal anecdote is Heavy music for heavy times. I enjoy knowing anyone listens or appreciates the heavy tunes as well! Nothing quite like a song that just speaks and resonates with you during tough times and can heal and inspire us. Thank you I was very excited to share a part of my journey and how passionate I am as a music nerd 🤓 haha!

Growth and a new chapter begins!
Hello everyone, I just wanted to share about my first two days as an apprentice barber. I am 2 days into my Barber apprenticeship day one was awesome I got to meet some of the Barbers in my crew and shadowed my mentor as he did some hair cuts and I got my own Apprentice Barber chair it felt so official and I was stoked! Day two a great day but in a different way. I had my first haircut at the shop and lets just say I was a little nervous. The gentleman asked for a high fade I commenced the haircut shaving in my guide line. The gentleman then pointed out that one side was slightly higher than the other and I thanked him and made sure to correct it. At the 10 minute mark he stopped me and asked “are you new?” I replied “yes I am an apprentice” to which he replied “not to be rude but I'm going to stop you before you F**K up my lines, I would like someone else to do this haircut I'm paying for a quality haircut.” I replied of course that is no problem and one of the Barbers stepped in to do the rest of the haircut. As it was my official first day cutting hair at the studio I coached myself and ask myself the question what can I do better next time? - Let the customer know I am an apprentice - Explain the rates of a junior Barber cut - Work on calming the nerves Later I talked to the shop manager (my mentor) and he encouraged me saying that the next drop-in customer that is asking for a basic haircut (not a fade) will be a good place to start off. And clients who are my friends I can do the more complex cuts on since I've cut their hair in the past they know and trust me to cut their hair with some support and guidance from my mentor when it's needed. This helped me understand that this situation was not personal though the customers reaction was negative I used it as a lesson to know what my next steps will be in learning and honing in on my craft. Additionally the other Barbers encouraged me saying that this is not a common occurance at the Barbed shop and to just stay positive and keep doing what I'm doing and that I handled the situation very well and professionally and it took courage to handle that.
What is a fear you’ve overcome or outworked?
‘Every time fear wins it is strengthened.’ That quote terrifies me. - What mindset/reframe helped you overcome hesitation? Fear puts invisible walls up on the possibilities of our life. Some are simply good for us, some are learned and purely fed by an unruly commitment to feeling inadequate. I say ‘commitment’ because if the same diligence was put into convincing ourselves greater than that fear, we would inevitable conquer it. When you take a radical ownership of your life, you realize playing against fears is the fastest way feeling truly present and alive. It builds a confidence faster than any other habit. It makes you wonder ‘what else have I been holding myself back from?’ - I DESPISE being on camera. So I’ve done over 270media posts since 2020. The chance what I share is valuable to somebody is more important than my insecurity. - I feared starting public interactions, so I did 100reps of just saying “Hey, I’m working on breaking my social anxiousness, can I ask you a story-question?’ And asked one from ‘Compass of Connection’😜 it became a fave thing to do when stuck on a chairlift now ! - I feared being misunderstood and social conflict. Because my upbringing reference was malicious conduct and put-downs. I didn’t want to act that way. So learning to slow down, reframe to ‘us vs problem’ conduct, I actually am fairly excited during misunderstandings. It is an opportunity to see how truly committed we are to a harmony, or whether insecurity is still running the show. Nothing refines connection like stacking victories over issues. I KNOW I get to be a living example of healthy conduct and change others sense of possibility for how arguements can unfold:) How about you??

@Dan 'Remmy' Stourac thank you, I agree it’s truly been a huge season of growth what felt like much loss even a month ago has turned into growth and the fuel to rise above it learn and heal. That's a great reminder “I don't want people who don't want me.” I will start reminding myself of this! So true it gives permission to not crave and always earn love when the right people will give it relentlessly. So good!!

@Deleted, wow!!! I am blown away. I appreciate the honour of celebrating my journey; it is encouraging. Thank you! We have to choose because it often comes back continually, and we don’t always do it perfectly. Still, when we acknowledge the pattern, we dust ourselves off and give ourselves the kindness and patience to choose to heal and choose ourselves above it. It makes ripples of change. Sometimes, they are small moves, and other times, we break through with crashing waves, but both are positive movements into healing and choosing our genuine selves. It is encouraging to hear that what I shared resonated enough with you to cause you to heal a part of yourself. I honestly can’t put into words how grateful I am for the impact that sharing my journey can inspire and motivate others to also heal in their own journey! Thank you for sharing 💛
When was a time a risk you took paid off?
Life is full of adventures hiding behind an entrance fee of curiosity! It must simply be greater than our self-doubt and fears! Very few people in life land their truly aligned career or relationship on first attempt. We’ve all lived far more colourful lives than first impressions could ever tell. Share one of those stories here! For myself, last summer, I had an epiphany that I must CHALLENGE my limiting beliefs. One was that I could not be a heli-pilot because of 3 heart procedures as a kid with leukaemia. You can’t fly with risk of heart palpitations - which I have had probably once a month for 20 years. But I never medically confirmed this to disqualify me. The day after I realized I made an assumption, rather than make proof, I went to an aviation medical examiner, did all the test and passed with flying colors! 💫 I expressed my concerns and he said ‘no, you’re a young healthy guy despite your cancer, crazy if you DONT go for this with your clean bill of health.” 🤯 Next step, I call my only heli-pilot contact I met a a horseback guide in the Yukon a decade ago. I asked for pointers before paying $80,000 in schooling. 9min phone call later, he offered me a job as ground crew at his helicopter outfit in a remote Inuit village in the Yukon. I dropped my life, drove 37hours and spent 2 months in the epic north! Learned a TON! BUT! I learned that my truest calling is to be of deep and personal service to individuals. My gifts are to elevate others, and flying was just a ‘that’s pretty badass’ dream that I thought was denied me because of my heart procedures. But that man gave me an opportunity to realize my priorities and saved me heart $100,000 and YEARS of debt by giving me an inside view before investing. So my words to you, do not simply buy into any negative assumption about yourself. Challenge it and realize how often ONLY our own mindset and the story we tell ourselves is in the way! Thanks to @Georgiana D for inspiring this conversation!

@Dan 'Remmy' Stourac thats right life is full of opportunities for relationships that fill each others cups! I closed a chapter and what felt like loss at the time was actually redirection and the gain of severing toxic attachement and stepping into self-reliance self-worth and healing to create secure attachments in the future. Great things are ahead!
