Stopped at my jeweler today...
No, I didn't go home with it. I kind of wish I did... They were still running a 20% off black Friday sale, but even at 20% off, I'd still be looking at $360, which is still not cheaper than the average retail price. What makes the difference in prices? Is it the customer service, band sizing, warranties, all of the above? How nervous should I be about buying online?

Neat. Loved those movies as a kid
WOTD - PSA there is a picture with a nail almost ripped off
So after almost chopping my little finger off with the lawn mower on Saturday, today was part 1 of a 2 part surgery. You can see that my little finger was severed at the bone in the x-rays. Then there is the shatter fracture at the base of the little finger. My mower didn’t turn off when I switched it off and I don’t have a fuel cutoff. So I was using a screw driver to push the last little way at the stopper, the screw drive slipped and my little finger went under the guard. Thankfully I was wearing my work gloves and that the blade was going slowly, if not there is a great possibility I would have lost the finger. Any way, Bob was along for the entire day in Registra review after fasting from 2300 Sat, being at the hospital from 0830 today and bot getting into Surgery until 1430. About 24 hours from accident to Syrgery.

Nice watch, love the black dial. Glad you were able to keep your digit. That stuff happens fast
Old white (dial Wednesday)
My 1940s Bulova is more of an antiqued white dial. Like its wearer we both have a certain Patina. (Not old😏)

Grateful for My Brothers in Watch Lovers for Level 9
I’m honestly humbled. A group of brothers here in Watch Lovers pushed hard to bring me up to Level 9—digging through thousands of posts and comments to make it happen. I’m in awe of that effort, and I can’t fully put into words how thankful I am. To my brothers in Watch Lovers, and especially to the Minute Men, thank you. This community continues to amaze me, not just for the watches we share, but for the people behind them. I guess I’ll be DQ’d from this week’s leaderboard competition, lol.
