Because Wednesday
OOTD. This has a little history behind it. About 10 years ago I wore this ensemble for school pictures. I inadvertently wore it the year after, and then it became a tradition. Now, whenever I wear this ensemble, I have a good laugh with one of the phys ed teachers…must be picture day!

I missed the first 4 days….looking good sir!
Nothing crazy, but a step above the coworkers.
The administration has designated December as a “Jeans every day“ month. I am not a huge fan of jeans on a Monday-Thursday basis. Pierre Cardin shirt, Mandalorian necktie, very casual, gray trousers, and black loafers. I need a different pose…

Another day at the office in NYC — finally starting to warm up a bit . . . Tom Ford gray and black wool sport coat; Hermès orange pocket square; Apposta white cotton broadcloth button-up shirt; Ralph Lauren Purple Label black wool cardigan; Luca Faloni black cotton chinos; rafalgar black silk suspenders; Orvis black merino wool crew socks; Santoni dark gray Chukka boots; Apple Watch Hermès Series 10 with Grand H stainless steel watch band; Polo Ralph Lauren black leather and wool gloves; Irish black tweed flat cap from Hanna Hats of Donegal; Italian oil scarf; Loro Piana wool greatcoat over it all.

Molto bene, signore!
Not my favorite yet with a purpose
I am not a fan of navy ties with navy suits for several reasons. Mainly it’s falls short regarding creativity. It also rarely matches the right tones when wearing a monochromatic outfit. To my eyes it usually looks like a guy who is very new to wearing a tie and suit (or never ventured far from that stage). However, when done rightly it can also produce a look for a seasoned dresser that represents a bold and brave approach. Here its use is neither. In the midst of 4 meetings, I attended a funeral for a passed fellow Boy Scout district board member and chose tie from Florence with fleur di lis on it (both the Florence Italy symbol as well as Boy Scouts of America). To add some interest I chose my Prince of Wales blue shirt with green accents and a navy and green pocket square to pick up those colors in the tie. Still in mourning for my friend Tim, the Guinness cufflinks felt appropriate. Navy Byford OTC socks, J Fitzpatrick captoes, and my Seiko 5 finished off the OOTD.

Fellow Scouter here. Sorry for your second loss in a short time. Very fitting and practical use of the fluer di lis tie. Good look!
