🚨 Europe Update: The 4-Day Workweek is Getting REAL
Germany just finished a 4-day workweek trial (same pay, fewer hours)… and 73% of participating companies are planning to keep it. Read that again: same pay + more life. Meanwhile, Spain’s attempt to reduce the standard workweek to 37.5 hours got stalled politically- but this kind of data from Germany keeps the pressure building across Europe. I pulled this from today’s “Spain Remote Work Digest” (Remote Work Europe- Maya + Diana). If you’re tracking Spain/Europe remote life, it’s worth subscribing. Discussion prompt for the group 👇If you had a legit 4-day week option: 1. Would you take it immediately? 2. What would you do with the extra day (family, side hustle, travel, rest)? 3. Would you trade some salary for it, or only if pay stays the same? Drop your answer below ⬇️

@Ben Nelson Right? Try looking up the study and showing it to convince them. LOL
What is Your Daily Commute Time in the U.S.?
🚦 The daily commute: America vs Europe In the U.S., your commute is an endurance sport. Hour in traffic. Coffee gone. Patience gone. You arrive at work already exhausted. In Europe, the commute is… normal. A short walk. A train that actually shows up. Maybe a coffee. Maybe fresh air. American cities were built for cars. European cities were built for people. One steals your time. The other gives it back. And somehow, that changes everything. Less traffic. Less stress. More life after work.

Welcome Max! 👋 Glad to have you here. Just so you know, this community is mostly focused on Americans exploring life and remote work in Europe, so it helps if posts connect to that theme. If you’re open to it, tell us a bit more: • Are you currently based in Europe or planning to move? • What kind of projects are you building? • How does remote work / location freedom fit into your plans? Always great to see builders in the community. Looking forward to hearing more. 🚀
Why So Many People Are Finding a Fresh Start in Europe
So many conversations here remind me why this community exists in the first place. Europe offers a pace and quality of life that feels different, more balanced, more intentional, and sometimes simply more human. From affordable everyday living to reliable public transportation and a culture that values time, connection, and well-being, it’s no surprise so many people are exploring the idea of moving here. What I love about this community is how people openly share tips, experiences, and real-world guidance. From navigating visas and work culture to finding housing, budgeting smarter, or understanding local customs. It’s become a space where anyone curious about starting fresh in Europe can learn, ask questions, and get support from others who’ve been through it. If you’re considering the move or just curious about life here, you’re in the right place. This group is full of people who understand the journey and are always ready to share what they’ve learned.
