Hannah Lew - more great synth pop
You probably know this one as she’s been getting plenty of airplay on KEXP. Still, had to mention it as I love it and Mother by her band Cold Beat is also a gem.

I love that album! I can wait until she tours - I would have gone down to SF to see her at Bottom of the Hill but we were already going to Port Townsend for my kids' spring break
St Vincent show last night - wow!
I (finally!) saw St. Vincent here in Portland yesterday evening and she was quite fantastic. I do see and enjoy a lot of live music but it was a particularly great show. I've been a fan of hers for a while but have somehow never seen her live - I definitely will do so again.

Got a Friday song?
This morning on Early I heard Eva say she didn't have a Friday song but if she did it would be Loverboy "Working for the Weekend".. Got me thinking what my Friday song would be.. What would your's be?

Music in Seattle This Weekend 3/7/26
I'm very excited to see my favorite darkwave band from PDX 'Darkswoon' this Saturday at the Central Saloon, on the bill for June, Jupe record release. See you there? https://centralsaloon.com/events/jupe-jupe-record-release-darkswoon-hot-hail-dj-activate/

Marco - thank you for this - I unfortunately will not be able to join you in Seattle this weekend, but your post prompted me to check out Darkswoon's website and I bought a ticket to see them here in Portland at Mississippi Studios on April 4!
What’s the farthest you’ve ever gone for a show?
I braved an ice storm for an out-of-town Nine Inch Nails show last night and it made me think of going on musical road trips. I think the furthest I’ve gone specifically for a concert is Minneapolis (from Toronto) though I’ve certainly caught concerts further away while already travelling. My (probably mathematically unbreakable) record there is Sydney.

@Christopher Guerrero I saw Peter Gabriel in Lyon, France in 1987 - I was 18 years old and up front as well. While singing Lay Your Hands on Me, he fell back on us and my friend and I helped hold him up for a bit and then push him back to the stage - definitely up there in memorable concert experiences

But if we're going with farthest, I saw Cat Power in Dublin for The Greatest Tour - I also had seen her in SF for the same tour and they were really such different shows
