Just submitted my application for SDVOSB
Just applied to the SBA for my consulting business to be qualified as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. Lets see how long the process takes this time. The screening process is underway, and an analyst will begin review of the contents of your application package to ensure it is complete. @David Jones the process is easier now that SBA owns it. All company docs, 2 years in business, and Service Connection, too easy (make sure you have it all before submission or you will go back and forth!

I did in fact make that mistake...I started with rose colored glasses and bought equipment and hired people that didn't work. I am on my third iteration now, and the lessons have been learned! Best way to start your own business is to do it as a side-gig until you have the sustainability for your own income and grow it from there. You need to know where you are headed, so a simple business plan should suffice. Happy to discuss more....
