Post your Progress!
So the biggest asset you have here is the community! It might feel awkward or you might feel some pre-posting anxiety, but this class is full of people practicing new skills just like yall. Whether it’s a kick, punch, or a mobility movement, I want to see how you’re doing. Also, one of the things I love is seeing you all grow! There is no greater joy as a coach and teacher than seeing your students thrive. Looking forward to the videos! And reach out when you feel like you’re stuck!

Kicks, checks, teeps
Hey guys hope you’re all well First day properly being back as I was off with a really bad flu, Was still training but not my normal routine but finally back at it Done 5x5 with 2 rounds of kicks and checks (kicks are finally feeling a lot more natural which is a positive) 3 rounds of teeps First time really teeping on a bag felt a bit hard to go through the bag, only teep I’m staying away from is the sissor teep as my left knee always buckles from the landing as it’s an old injury as it never healed Any advice would be great https://youtube.com/shorts/yCBFra8AvAk?si=DdHQnpf7VbXSh2u9

These are looking solid, my dude! The only thing I would suggest to try is using your pivot foot to help pull you back a little faster so your base isn’t so exposed after you kick! Next thing to do: put two kicking techniques together! Teep into a kick, kick into a teep, rear kick into a shuffle and shuffle kick into a rear roundhouse!
Heavy Bag
I’m just curious, how many of you have access to a heavy bag, banana bag, some type of punching bag? As we are filming more and more of our course, and deeper into the levels eventually you will want one. So I’m trying to see if we need to do a video about the different types of bags and where to get them so you don’t end up getting some over priced šŸ’©

Let me look into this and write something up! You are correct in uppercuts and downward elbows, but knees are not a concern on a hanging bag. There are unique bag shapes like the Fairtex bowing pin bag which has a couple different curves to it that offers multiple angles/striking surfaces to train most techniques. https://www.nakmuaywholesale.com/product/fairtex-hb10-bowling-bag/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21339079808&gclid=CjwKCAjwnZfPBhAGEiwAzg-VzLRD8NzZIqb1S2d0-ljLwE4il3Nr8SNzbEMRyVmAGLDQ5Z6p8XuMPRoCSsIQAvD_BwE

Hell yeah, my dude! And your timing with the bag is amazing! For your switch kick, you should try throwing the rear roundhouse in south paw to really understand hip swing and the start to play with where your hip can be as you shuffle!

Rear leg is looking solid! Good turnover and body alignment. The check is looking a little tight. You want to think of your shin as a wall when checking and not try to pull your heel into your butt. You want your ankle under or slightly in front of your knee to create a solid shield. In regards to the lead shuffle, your shoulder slightly pulls back while the hip goes forward but i think this is because your kick is going around the bad as opposed to more towards the front. You want to picture hitting more towards the front of the bag and less of the side. You’re well on your way to having a solid kick on both sides!
