Hi, I’m Doug! I love playing music—it just makes you feel great. I first started tinkering with DAWs and rhythm back in the late '90s with tools like Cakewalk and HammerHead. By the 2000s, I was producing private music using Pro Tools on a Mac G5 Tower. I consider myself a bit of a jack-of-all-trades with hands-on experience in film, set design, music, and stage production. I really enjoy helping others with their technical setups, live gigs, and production workflows. As a new member here, I'm looking for some guidance to take things to the next level. Hello to all, I am a new member and am very excited to be part of this group. I am 69 years old and have been play music all my life. Mostly local bands as well as every band though my 12 years of school. I have always been interested in mixing and editing music ever since my first studio experience some 40 years ago. Now That I have reached retirement age I thought now or never.

I have a set of headphones, Sure SRH940's, I hate wearing them to sing as I cannot hear myself and found a workaround is to pan all the sound to the left speaker and hold/balance the left cup to my ear which leaves my other ear free to hear my voice and minimises bleed. Am I being weird here, is there a better set of headphones, I really bought these for mixing, or is this normal practise?
