"House of the Rising Sun" with Clarinet, Drums, Tuba & Trombone
Thanks @Jimmy Lambert for causing me to find this recording of Doreen Ketchens playing & singing "House of the Rising Sun!" What do yall find unique or interesting about this recording? We'll play with this song next Wed night after Improv Games! Post your recordings with backing tracks for this tune in the 🌊IMPROV WATERFALL Category and post your favorite recordings of others playing this song in the 🔊Listening List Category! My favorite way to learn to play a song by ear is to listen to several different covers of the song on YouTube... then choose my favorite and try to mimic it on my flute before I add my own flavor!

Man, Vic can you growl like that in the flute? this video kept my attention the entire 8 minutes long, i was glued to it! This recording was nonstop interesting from every single musician and their moods. I wonder how many times they have played this song... thank you!!!!

@Vic Wheeler oh cool!!! Flutter like a mad butterfly. Yeah the trombone smokes! And the tuba keep my attention- the amount of strength it takes to play that thing and he seemed so happy and groovy!

If you're going to be a studio musician, better be prepared to do it at least 10 times 🤪

Turning Living Rooms into Living Music
We’re rehearsing, ‘Daniel’ for my upcoming Interactive House Concert Series! I’ll be performing my originals followed by a set of classic rock with my talented friend, Michael on his beautiful Yamaha grand piano in his living room and with his friends and family. I am so excited for this new opportunity. @Vic Wheeler you give me more confidence in shaping my flute solos. How do you like my flute solo? We can play the game, how does it sound: happy or sad? or what emotion do you feel?

You and Your Flute
I just submitted this head shot to the Atlanta Flute Club. They are inviting me to teach a songwriting class March 14!! I’m so excited!! and they are going to promote me on their social media. I will get to set up a table at the exhibit hall to sell my merch too!! My class is called From Sound to Song: A Language-Based Approach to Flute Improvisation and Songwriting. Thank you to Vic and all you Flutarians who are so inspiring with such unique improvisation skills on the flute! What is your favorite headshot with your flute? lol!!

Thank you, Sheri!! It is always such a vulnerable feeling to me to submit a head shot! I love yours!!! I am so jealous, I have never been to the west coast!!! I did this photo session with JillTheDesigner from Retmod. This was a very cold day in the southeast, but spring was in bloom and it was just so gorgeous.
