Where Are You Noticing Growth in Yourself? Growth isn’t always loud. In fact, sometimes it goes completely unnoticed by other people. What’s one way you’ve changed, softened, strengthened, or expanded recently, even if no one else sees it yet? We see you here ❤️ I'll start. I used to get easily frustrated when things didn't go my way. I'd huff and puff, getting worked up and aggitated. Now, it is easier for me to notice the frustration, recognize it and let it pass, knowing that things will work out no matter what (just not the way I thought or on the timeline I would have liked). Don't get me wrong, I still feel frustrated at times. I just don't have such a big reaction to is as I used to.

That is huge, Liz! For me . . . I am trying to slow down, be more careful and thoughtful. With the 'P&P' performance behind me, I can feel the tug of bridal blues, and my reaction is to want to rush headline into THE NEXT THING. I'm trying to give everyone, myself included, time to catch our breath, and approach the next project with intention. xx

What Intention Do You Want to Set for Today? How do you want to feel or show up today? One or two sentences is enough. Let’s anchor the day together and hold each other accountable. I'll start. My intention today is to practice kindness in all of my thoughts, words and actions. Yesterday was a shit show in my house, I'm not going to lie. My husband and daughter had a blow-out and I was caught in the cross-fire. When that happens, my internal chatter can spiral, thinking negative thoughts and saying things I don't really mean. That can then ooze out into other areas of my life, including my business. Stopping myself before that happens to remember what's really most important to me is not always easy, but it's always worth it. Thanks for listening! Sending you lots of love today. ❤️

Intention: Balance -- yesterday's performance of my P&P was thrilling - both quality and turn out -- , and I have a zillion ideas for building on the momentum of that success, but for the next 8 hours, I'm a tax editor with a day job.

What’s One Thing You’re Grateful for Right Now? It doesn’t have to be big or profound. What’s something small, ordinary, or unexpected that brought you a moment of appreciation today? Let’s start the day grounded in gratitude. I'll go first. I am grateful that I chose to start this community now instead of waiting for all my content to be done. It is really fun to be sharing the creative process with you and getting your feedback as I roll things out! Sending love to you all and hope you have a great day!

Who Are You Being Online That Isn’t Actually You? Let’s talk identity. What version of yourself do you present publicly that feels slightly off, or incomplete? What part of you wants more airtime? This one can be freeing. I'll start. On my Instagram page, I feel like my profile is "all over the place." I have some of my stand-up comedy clips, inspriational quotes, and these days I have been experimenting with AI-generated content. I know what's off- there's not enough of ME there. One of the things I know I need to do is make (and post) imperfect videos- the off-the-cuff ones that show people who I really am. And yet, those are the ones that seem the hardest to put out there!

why do they feel so difficult? What i am not fully articulating yet is the WHY for writing —why it is a transformational practice. To some people, that will be instinctive. But it still serves them hugely to spell it out-that helps enable them to invest in that part of themselves. To others, a compelling why is a reason to open the door. and i am not offering this. thank you for the question.

@Liz Lemarchand thank you -- I will add to my list. that's a great recommendation. It also occurred to me that i'm still not offering the level of vulnerability I need to be real or attract people to my course. That if you had told spiralling with writer's block/self doubt/mild depression me that this is the life I have today, I wouldn't have believed it -- not the name on the poster, but the active, integrated, connected creative life that it represents. I am offering Write in Ten and coaching because I have walked that path from darkness to the sunlit uplands, and I desire it for others -- So I need to find a way to communicate this authentically without being melodramatic.
Sales letter? would welcome thoughts
So - exploring different approaches to selling. This is a letter I circulated to my mailing list this morning, about my upcoming performance. I'd be interested in your thoughts. It was being circulated by and large to people with an interest in writing/jane austen/theatre. xx Dear Friends, I had planned to send you a very formal invitation to Tuesday's online performance of my adaptation of 'Pride & Prejudice' by Jane Austen, politely informing you that: - It will be aired online this coming Tuesday, 8 p.m. GMT/3 p.m. East Coast time.  - Tix are £7, including a 48h replay. - Jane Austen's House is hosting.  But after seeing Shake-Scene Classics' rehearsal last night all I can say is . . . You have GOT to see these guys bring Jane Austen's words to life! You have GOT to see Iain Peacock's cringe-inducing Mr. Collins warn Lizzy that "It is by no means certain that another offer of marriage may ever be made you." You have GOT to see Mr. Darcy's shock (Lane Paul Stewart) when Lizzy refuses him. You have GOT to see Lydia (Isla McLeod) rush headlong to her doom with Ellie Zeegen's magnetic Mr. Wickham. You have GOT to see Lizzy's showdown with Lady Catherine. (Halli Pattison v. Jenny Coverack). You have GOT to see Eric Karoulla's Mr Bingley find the courage to propose to Larissa Oates's Jane Bennet. And SO. MUCH. MORE!!! I wish I could invite Jane Austen. And I'm delighted to be able to invite you. Join us, this Tuesday, for a 50-minute romp through Jane Austen's best loved novel, followed by an audience Q&A. I would love to see you there. Tix: https://janeaustens.house/events/virtual-performance-pride-prejudice/ Warmly, Jo Associate Playwright, Shakes-Scene Classics (that's the formal bit)
