What’s your number one struggle as a PMU artist?
Mine for years was getting clients and brow mapping. Lip blush and lash line were much easier, but mapping brows consistently was tough. Here’s the good news: once you have a client acquisition strategy, you start getting consistent practice, and you improve way faster than if you wait for random clients to trickle in. You can practice mapping on friends, family, or anyone willing to come in. Even using a latex pad at home works wonders. When I started, I practiced on a mannequin head with removable brow strips and had the tattoo bed in my bedroom—this helped me get positioning, stretching, and procedure flow down perfectly. Once you master mapping (and it can take just 20 minutes), you significantly cut down appointment time. Practice makes perfect—and faster appointments = more clients = more experience.
