What you guys do to protect yourselves when dealing with strangers and many blut heavy instruments around you...? Dog companion would make sense for this type of work
Making the jump
Filed my LLC paperwork last night. Just wanted to share. I’m nervous, but looking forward to being able to control my own world instead of someone else making choices for me. Stay tuned for the service truck build!

And so it begins
Deposit for Appointment?
Does anyone take a deposit for appointments/jobs? Thinking a deposit through Square and that would come off the final bill. Trying to make sure folks pay the bill at the end of the day. Or any other ideas on how to guarantee payment?

@Ben Dellaria so what do you do about no shows or last minute cancellations. or you show up and they say they cant find the key, changed their mind, etc. im surprised you dont take a deposit. but you are at level 55 compared to the rest here so im sure you have some experience to know that customers perhaps dont do this that often ?

@Ben Dellaria good on you. i think you have a solid policy and set a good example with this policy
Marketing idea - gift cards!
With holidays here how about offering people gift cards? Say an 'oil change' or 'tune up' or 'breaks job' or general $xx amount? Idea is someone can buy this for their friend / relative who they know needs car help. That person would then redeem it and it would apply as store credit to the job. The only issue is how its worded or marketed as there are some states that have laws where unused gift card balances can be redeemed back to cash. Probably best to NOT call it a gift card but store credit. DYOAI research

@Ben Dellaria thats very cool. what is the response rates on these? one thing that got me back to valvoline (before i learnt to change my own oil) was the continual coupons. so they def work but i question how often people do car repair - a lot of time has to pass between an issue occurs for them
Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sales
What are you guys getting? Tools? Storage? Van mods? Might get an upgraded radio for the van myself.
