Too embarrassed to ask for favours?
Who else here struggles to ask for favours? So many of us discount that we’re gonna receive what we ask for before we even ask. But as Jesus points out, if you don’t ask, you won’t get. One of the ‘asks’ that I always struggled with was asking for a pay rise at work. Then, as I transitioned to owning a business, I later had to begin charging more for my services. Sometimes, these conversations felt really awkward, especially with the clients who had been with me for a long time and were used to setting the rules to our business agreement. I’ve had to carefully negotiate some business relationships, but it’s been necessary and its taught me to understand the value of our services and learn to speak up. Have you had similar experiences? Let us know below. Link to the full conversation on ‘communication and our health’ in the comments. Tasha~

How I lifted myself out of depression
For all who struggle with low mood and/or depression, what’s your secret to managing it? I put myself through a 7-step morning routine for years, and this helped me not slip into feeling negative and irritable. The whole process had to begin as soon as I woke, and would take up the better part of the first hour of my morning. Even throughout my day, I had methods to check in with myself including quick meditation breaks, walks around the block (outside of course) to get a breather while working, and hot/cold showers which helped regulate my hormones. If I didn’t find ways to change my emotional state, I’d turn into a monster. Continued in the first comment. These days, my protocols have completely changed, and the only habit I continue to do consistently is journaling. In the autumn of 2024, I discovered that when we tried bio technology, my nervous began to change. I can’t really explain it, but the bio chemistry in my body is different now. I feel more relaxed, and my mood is just more stable and predictable. I even stopped scratching at my back and stomach, which had been a nervous habit I had had for many years. I still get moody or sensitive from time to time, but things have changed a lot. I’m glad I learned all those routine steps years ago, but now, I use my time to do other things that are important too. Do you do anything to manage your mood? Let us know below. I’d love to know. Would YOU try something new for your health?
What does it take for you to try something new? I confess that I knew about the bio technology patches back in 2019, and I even tried them. But I simply wasn’t ready. So many of us haven’t even heard of technology that you can stick on your body to help with health issues, and when I finally got around to investigating, I was shocked. I listened to many testimonials, and I wanted my family to try the bio technology to help with joint issues. But I really underestimated how these would go on to help me with conditions that I hadn’t really given much attention. In fact, my attitude was, “let’s try and see what happens,” and lo and behold, I got way more than I bargained for! Shy to request higher pay?
Have you struggled to request a pay rise at work? I know this challenge only too well. When I started to work in Portugal as a teacher, the head teacher confronted me about my salary which she discovered was higher than hers. She had been working at the school for nearly a decade and I completely understood her frustration (and never found out how she learned what salary I was on). I too feel the discomfort of asking for more money, especially when you develop a friendship with the owners or managers who decide payroll, and I think that asking for pay rises is something that typically women struggle with more. What strategy have you found that helps you when heading into this type of negotiation? Let us know below. Link to our full conversation on ‘communication to stay healthy’ below. Tasha~

What a week! 😅
It’s been a rollercoaster with disappointment and blessings one day after the other, stuff we can’t share publicly just yet. Oh my goodness, the good things have been amazing! It’s crazy that’s so much can happen in one week. Here are a few gratitude moments for me. 🙏 How has your week been? Let us know, and let’s celebrate your special moments together.🫶👇 Tasha <
