Have you ever been in a situation where a loved one has a really serious health issue and you have no idea how to help? Back in 2018, I received a call from my mum saying that she had thyroid cancer, and she was about to begin radiotherapy treatments prescribed by the doctor. I was living and working in S. Korea, and mama insisted that she was going to go through the treatments and there was nothing I could do to help. I was very alarmed and immediately connected with a friend who is a nutritionist to get her advice. I felt so helpless and didnβt have the slightest clue about what cancer actually is, or what causes it, and how to help support someone going through these treatments. I knew nothing about the thyroid gland, either. I knew there were alternatives to conventional medicine, but I didnβt know enough about them to give any real suggestions. Perhaps you have been through a similar experience too. After the radiotherapy treatments, my mother recovered well, and I felt very relieved, but the situation really impressed on me just how fragile we can be, and that taking care of our health doesnβt just impact us, but it affects all of the people we love and care for us too. Let me know in the comments which events helped you show an interest in holistic health. I'm curious.
