Welcome! Introduce yourself + share your favorite book of the Bible
Let's get to know each other! You can use this simple format: Hey, I'm from _______________________. For fun I like to ___________________________________. My favorite book of the Bible is: _________________________________________. (If you don't have a favorite book of the Bible yet, change it to "My favorite holiday is: ______________________.")

Hi, I'm Jess. Originally from NY, but now living in Maryland. For fun I like to create content. My favorite book is probably the book of John and proverbs.
What's our responsibility?
I was reading Philippians 2:12-13 this morning. It says, "Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and power to do what pleases Him". We know that our salvation is by faith alone, and yet our sanctification (growth in Christ) is a partnership between God's work and our work. When Philippians says "work hard to show the results of your salvation", what does it mean? What are the things we should be working hard on to show the results of our salvation?

I think this means living out the faith God has put inside you. We’re not earning salvation—we’re proving its reality through obedience, love, holiness, and perseverance.
The Problem with Denominations
I was born and raised as an atheist, but I found to faith through my local protestant church. Now as I am becoming more aware and closer to God I start to question all of the denominations. My key problem is that we can not know which of them is the truth, because if there was an easy way if saying it, we wouldn't have denominations in the first place. And the question I am asking myself is: Can God really expect us to choose the right one among them? Would that be fair? None of us as humans can really claim to have the definitiv answer, and if you can't tell which of the denominations God wants you to choose, surely he won't judge you for it. What are your thoughts.

I think denominations are part of Satan's plan to divide the Church. I believe that it's about having a relationship with Jesus rather than organized religion.

@Josh Shelton Thank you for sharing those verses — I completely agree that Scripture shows the importance of fellowship and gathering with other believers. Sound doctrine is important, but the heart of it all is knowing the person of Jesus Christ and walking in His truth (John 17:3). Being around other believers strengthens us and helps build one another up in love (1 Thessalonians 5:11). My concern is that denominations, and even the Catholic Church at times, can place heavy emphasis on rules, rituals, or works, which shifts the focus away from the simplicity of salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). This can become divisive rather than unifying. Scripture reminds us that “There is one body and one Spirit… one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all” (Ephesians 4:4–6). That unity is only found in Jesus, not in man-made systems.
