My latest Pendant & Thoughts
My latest pendant I did. Top-drilled Labradorite with some minor imperfections. I need to buff out a few spots and then polish it up. Then I'm going to take pics. I purchased a photo light box and a mini tripod stand for my phone that works with an app and it has a remote button for taking pics so that I won't mess up or get shadows in the shot! I'm also trying to think of some ideas for photo props that I can make. I have wood and paint. My fiance has an assortment of table saws, the corner saws (the little ones for cutting out circle edges and stuff like circle rounds etc. Along with sanders. I want to steer away from using AI and do something that's cohesive with a minimalist, white and wood type look like an oval jewelry dish, etc. I'm actually debating on taking it apart, scraping it and redoing it. All because I don't feel the bail is wide enough for it. I'm on the fence. I do love how my wraps turned out though. Some mighty fine wraps on that bottom most part lol!

Currently sick.. 🤧😭
Unfortunately I came down with tonsillitis over the weekend, so I’ll be taking this week off to rest, but I wanted to say WELCOME to all of our new members! I’m sorry I haven’t sent welcome messages to you guys yet, but I’ll be catching up on those soon. In the mean time, if you have any questions, feel free to post on the community board or send me a message! 💗

Get better soon! Hope the family doesn't get it either!!
Next tutorial idea..
I really want to do some designs where you guys can practice weaving—what do you think of this earring design? Hopefully I can practice and get it filmed this week. I’ve been dealing with some intense anxiety over the past week as my body still adjusts to life postpartum and post-nursing—what a roller coaster it’s been 😅 but this community has helped a lot and seeing everyone interacting has made me so happy ☺️ thank you guys for being here! 💖

That's such an elegant design! I'd love to learn it! But like pp said, you & your healing and that baby mean more, so take the time you need, we'll be here learning & practicing the content you already have for us! I hope you're doing well! PP is no joke! I had it with #2 out of 6 kids. To think..he's going to be 24 on the 10th of June (this month, in 2 days!) And he's a hat now..I still cook, clean & do everything for him! He does work full-time, is on the spectrum but not like he was when he was a child. He has a degree in Graphic Design (but works in a factory, forklift driver lol, loves it. Says he can run over ppl and have a reason to do it now!) Yup. That's my kid..🤦‍♀️
What tutorials do YOU want to see?
Leave me your ideas and suggestions here! 😎 💡 Things you can mention: -Styles of jewelry (whimsical, flowy, sleek, boho, classic, masculine..) -Wire wrapping techniques (basics, wire weaving, encasing stones, coiling wire, creating frames) -Categories of jewelry (pendants, earrings, rings, bracelets, home decor) -Problem solving (let me know something you’re having trouble doing) Feel free to leave photos for inspiration. I encourage you to browse through my IG or site. You can leave other photos that you find online, but keep in mind that I cannot show you guys how to copy someone else’s work, but I can use it for inspiration to explain a general concept or part of their design that is not a signature element of their style 🥰

I'm struggling with my frames, adding in decorative elements and bails. I need to learn different types to do than just the 2 I use. Finding a good tutorial out there where they don't skip through a section, fast forward so fast you can't see or not even show the tutorial is hard! But I do and am struggling with bails and adding in decorative elements to pieces! Pendants mostly as I have sooo many cabs! Ovals precisely! And I have a bunch a thin ones I purchased for relatively cheap to use with practicing! Some rings would be cool, but then again, I haven't had the time to watch all the tutorials you have in the rings section yet for the VIP!
Square & half round copper wire
This is my first piece using square & half round wire and I loved using it.I used a sea glass stone which wasn’t the easiest for the first time due to the uneven shape but I think it’s not bad for my first attempt.😊

@Tracy Bryan you did REALLY good! Your wires aren't all bent out of shape, your bends are uniform on both sides, your wraps are tight and your bail is solid! This is superb for a first time! You've got a knack for this! I love square & half-round wire! The key is to always remember that the wire will go with a gentle coax and being dead soft or half-hard makes a huge difference in how it will play in your hands too! But with your piece, it's stunning! Man, my first piece..it was one of the "easieast" they say to start with, a pre-drilled teardrop pendant..it was a DISASTER looking hurricane of swooped I don't know! I messed it up. But my weave on my bail? Perfect! I can weave, but those wires..we still fight. Every day! (So I move to my faux leather or incorporating other jewelry items and resin then!) Keep it up!!

Honestly, square wire is easier to work with for your base/frame wires. Use half round for the outer. So If you use 4 wires, 2 inside are square and 2 outer are half round. The half round will form your cage around the stone and then if you add on (which I'm sure Abbey will do tutorials of later on too, as this is more advanced wire wrapping.) the square wire and half round will be your anchors. Half Round is good for bail frames as well. But for Weaving, I'd stick with round! I can't afford Rio Grande, so I order off Amazon. An excellent Seller I use is YEJJET. I've had an excellent experience with them. US based, though.
