Washer Machine suggestions
Good Morning Gentlemen, My washer machine died this weekend. Started making a wonderful grinding noise and stopped turning. Now usually price would make the decision pretty easy, as I get picky with do I really need the extras, but with Black Friday here I have lots more options, a good thing no sarcasm. Anyone bought a washer machine recently or have a favorite feature they use? Feel free to add things you might not use but are easier with having kids or outdoor work, because they apply to me. Thank you

@Christopher Moore I just looked it up and wow is that tempting. If my tv hadn’t died too.

Just a quick update since the group helped, I went with a LG 5.5 cubic feet top loader. Thought hard about the speed queen but my tv also went out after I posted and speed queens are louder and i already have trouble hearing so went quieter and cheaper. So far so good. It’s very customizable with spin speed and water which for me is a must when washing jackets, sweaters, and such. Thanks for the help. https://www.homedepot.com/p/LG-5-5-cu-ft-SMART-Top-Load-Washer-in-Alpine-White-with-Impeller-Easy-Unload-and-TurboWash3D-Technology-WT8400CW/329499484
Will you stay when RMRS goes paid only?
like many here, I found this community by watching Antonio’s YouTube videos. Since joining, I’ve enjoyed interacting with like-minded individuals across the U.S. and from around the world. With the upcoming changes to RMRS, I am curious if others are planning to switch to the subscription based service at RMRS, BOS, or Watch Lovers (or multiple). The threads announcing the changes have been locked for comment, so I am starting a thread to hear what others think, and a forum to offer feedback.

I would say I am very undecided if I would pay for a subscription. I have always been overly cautious about subscriptions as they are cheap by themselves but cumulatively can quickly cause problems. I also worry about being to much ā€œonlineā€, so the value really has to be there. What Antonio offers is intriguing because I am redoing my wardrobe and this community keeps me from mindlessly scrolling the internet. But I will see what changes happen and worth it brings. And if I did sign up it would only be for the RMRS community.
Winter Pieces Recommendations
I was sleeping on them because winters doesn't last long but the thing is, it's a great opportunity and best season for layering, therefore I'm thinking of adding these pieces. 1) Beige polo sweater (image attached) 2) Overshirt either textured or solid (image 2&3) 3) Suede Jacket (I'm not sure because generally it's an expensive investment) As I've mentioned before, winter doesn't last but i can wear overshirt during fall as well as in winters but suede jacket? Only in winters. I prefer gentleman look, basically old money or preppy look. It's just i don't like going full formal look, i like to break things a bit. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I like the beige polo. I have been experimenting with a sweater polo from my grandfather’s collection and they are extremely versatile for different types of outfits. Jackets look good too. If you are worried about how long you can wear them because of the short winter. You can buy the cheaper choice and see if you wear it that often. I also do wonder if the plaid jacket is going to be that versatile. Does it fit the rest of your outfit?
Looking for advice
I work in sales. I spend most of my time in gun stores, in their class rooms, or outside on a shooting range. It is dirty, dusty, and a lot of fun! I'm not rolling around on the ground getting in the mix. Though I may be called upon to help out occasionally. I'm wanting to look more professional than some 5.11 cargo pants and a polo (which is what I normally wear), without looking over dressed. I'm also a bit on the tubby side, and feel super exposed in a tucked in shirt. Clearly something that I need to work on, but also maybe something I need to just deal with mentally. To the question at hand. How would you suggest I dress that is not too elevated to be pretentious or just 5.11 pants, boots, an a polo?

I agree with everyone on this post. I think you just need an upgrade of pieces not a full change. I would lean on more vintage styles that are rugged and have a history, maybe more solid fabrics. Maybe look into chinos that are thicker more WW2 style, Officer pants, heavier jeans like wrangler cowboy cut, grab a couple nice denim shirts, or go crazy and get some old tweed hunting jackets. I know this time of year I get tired of the summer extra breathable polyester. Maybe you are leaning the same way
Are you infuenced?
In my feeds, I often see these days men's fashion trends that emphasize a relaxed yet refined aesthetic with key trends including the return of double denim, relaxed silhouettes like oversized t-shirts and blazers, and the resurgence of classic pieces like cardigans and leather jackets. Other trends I've noticed include comfortable, simple styles like polo shirts and knitwear, and workwear for some reason or another, shorter shorts, and chunky loafers or sneakers. Do you guys feel that you are influenced by these trends?

Trends or movements? No, I don’t follow trends. The really baggy style reminds me to much of the clothes I would get when I was a kid and was supposed to grow into. Never really did as they were 3 sizes to big and I am shorter and thinner and never grew into them. But I can’t complain too much because it is why I am into men’s style etc. Now the movement towards a more relaxed fit, yes I have been playing with it. As I have learned about drape, I realized that yes slim fits me but doesn’t compliment me due to proportions. I do like the last two photos.
