Whenever I feel guilt, fear, or pain, I try to trace it back to its origin in my childhood and teenage years. I picture the little girl or young woman I then was which helps me to, instead of feeling upset with myself, comfort and sooth myself, saying: I see you, I feel your pain, it was not your fault. The first time I did that 5 years ago during a burnout in a psychosomatic hospital. We were always told to paint what we feel, so I did.
