I love native birds
Not so with the Indian miner. I wish I could have chickens to chase them out. Going to have to put something else in the garden bed to fill the open areas.

@Alisha Hobart 😆 I have heard that fake snakes don't work, especially if it sits in one place. One thing that does work if you do it correctly is artificial hawks, the catch is, they need to be up at a reasonable height and need to be moved around from place to place. The owls might, but must be moved around too. (I'm not sure how daytime birds would react to a night bird.) A lot of people go and plonk down a fake bird of prey and leave it in the same place forever, the birds aren't that silly and cotton on pretty quickly.

I Am Announcing My Retirement
I just wanted to let you all know I have decided to retire from Marty's Garden and the online world of gardening. I want to thank everyone for their support over the years. New garden bird
Had a visit from a new bird species in the garden. From my research it is a Pale Head Rosella. Never seen this sort of bird here before and I always get excited when I see a new species around. Hope everyone had a good new year. And welcome to 2026.
