@Maestro Collective yeah. It’s just I work full time helping my aging dad with his subcontractor job. It’s physically demanding and exhausting. Then have to try to do school work after working that hard all day. And he has no one else to help. He’s getting way too old to do it on his own, and his stubborn butt won’t retire. I mean I don’t blame him. When ur used to making $32 an hour it’s hard to drop down to the tiny bit social security provides (by tiny I mean in comparison to what he makes on the job). It’s making school really difficult to manage, and really difficult to absorb anything when so exhausted. The extra money from helping him is nice. But I’m like sooooo done with it!! So I’m in the process of trying to find a replacement for me. I’m also currently taking a GLP-1 for weight loss and if I don’t get in enough water (which is difficult when so busy on the job site too) I get really sick. So yeah. I’m just over it, man.

@James Hart same lol
Tomorrow you can have a live website. Or you can have another week of "I'll start soon."
Most of you have been circling this for months. Watching tutorials. Saving posts. Waiting until you "know enough" to start. You don't need to know more. You need to ship one thing. TOMORROW · 6PM ET · ONE HOUR We start with an empty folder. We finish with your portfolio live on the internet at your own URL — one you can send to a client, drop on a resume, or text to the person who said you'd never learn this. Not a demo. Not a walkthrough you follow at home. You'll be building it with me, live, and you'll leave with the link. What you'll actually do: - Command the terminal — the five commands that matter, nothing you don't need - Set up Git and GitHub and push your first code to the internet - Use AI as your lead engineer, not a search bar — the exact prompt formula that separates real output from garbage - Deploy it live with GitHub Pages Who this is for: People who have never written a line of code. If you've never opened a terminal in your life, you're not behind — you're the target audience. I'm teaching this like you know nothing, because most of you don't yet. That's the point. DO THIS TONIGHT — 10 minutes. This one is not optional. 1. Create a GitHub account at github.com (pick a username you'd put on a resume) 2. Install VS Code from code.visualstudio.com and open it once 3. Mac: open Terminal, paste xcode-select --install, hit Enter, click Install We only have 60 minutes. Every minute someone spends installing is a minute we're not building. Do the prep, and you ship. Skip it, and you watch. This is Part 1. What you build tomorrow has three empty project slots on it. We fill the first one next session. Miss tomorrow and you start behind. Comment "IN" below so I know to save you a spot — and if someone in your life keeps saying they want to learn this, tag them. Bring them. The room is better full. See you at 6.

Just wish there was a non live option if that was even possible. I mean I suppose I could turn my camera off. But I’d still be nervous af cuz my severe social anxiety. It sure be nice having help building stuff though. May help my disappointment in myself cuz I feel like I ain’t learning anything.😞😞😞

Congrats! Just finished too. But I’m seriously considering putting in to drop out. I’m just not grasping anything being taught. Just too much for me to absorb I guess. It’s gotten so difficult that as soon as I sit down at my desk to get on Maestro my entire body like shuts down. I could be good as far as energy level and feeling fine. But as soon as I sit down, don’t even need to login yet, all the energy drains from my body and I start feeling sick and such. I just don’t think my system can handle this anymore. 😞😞😞

@Melissa Hope thx. I did think about it and if I remember right we lose our MacBook if we drop out. And I could really use a new laptop cuz mine is pretty much ancient given how rapidly technology advances. It’s like six- ish years old. The Mac definitely is better than my old Dell. I think I’m gonna use the advice of other students and use chatGPT to help study and better break down the lessons to be easier for me to absorb. I have Mae set to teach me like I’m five. But maybe that makes it too easy. I tried to set her to adapt to the fact that I’m ADHD and level one Autistic, so that maybe she can adapt the lessons. But it doesn’t seem to help. I did use chatGPT once and it did help fairly well. It taught me using repetition, which kinda helped. Sadly I am more of a hands-on learner (that’s part of why I work in the field I currently do. Like to work with my hands.). Coding doesn’t really fit that.
AAS is 3 yrs not 2?
I am confused. Are yall counting in calendar years or?
