What Would You Change?
I left my role as a GM of a retail dealership, Titan Factory Direct in San Antonio, TX, making well over $650K per year to launch MH Sales Mastery. My wife, @Marisa Flores- Mascorro was not to thrilled with that decision but she knew it was coming. For years, I wanted to make an impact and create change in the industry with regard to how the sales force within it operates. We set out to revolutionize the industry and I think we have done a great job of that over the last 3 years and there is SO MUCH MORE TO DO! However, I want to hear from you...WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT THE INDUSTRY? Please share your thoughts in the comments and let us get to work for you! LET'S GROW!

I would change the language we use when referring to manufactured homes. The term “trailer park” carries outdated and negative connotation that doesn't reflect the reality of today’s manufactured home communities or the people who live in them. A simple starting point is to move away from the word “park” and use “community” instead. Referring to these properties as manufactured home communities or mobile home communities better reflects the sense of neighborhood, stability, and pride that residents experience.
Introduction
My name is Jennifer Barrett. I have been in the manufactured housing industry for 19 years and in property management for 28 years. I had the pleasure of working with ELS for 16 years and am currently with BoaVida Communities. In my role, I support regional and property managers, with a strong focus on building communities where people feel comfortable calling home. It is a pleasure to be part of this group, and I look forward to connecting and collaborating with you all.
Manufactured Housing in the Social Media Era
How important do you believe social media really is in the manufactured housing industry? Not just for marketing homes, but for building trust, educating buyers, creating relationships, and growing long-term business. I’d love to hear from professionals in the MH space:• What platforms have worked best for you?• Has social media actually led to sales or stronger customer connections?• Where do you see the industry heading digitally? Interested to hear different perspectives from across the industry.

In today’s market, it is imperative that we establish and maintain a strong presence on social media. Our goal should go beyond simple visibility. We need to actively educate people about manufactured housing (MH) ownership and highlight the lifestyle that comes with it. This includes sharing real stories, showcasing the benefits of MH living, and providing accurate information that helps prospective residents make informed decisions. Most importantly, we have an opportunity—and a responsibility—to work toward changing the stigma surrounding MH living. Through consistent, thoughtful, and engaging content, we can reshape perceptions, build trust, and position MH as a smart, desirable housing option.
