World Emotional Intelligence Day is this Saturday, June 6th!
One of the biggest misconceptions about emotional intelligence is that it means staying calm all the time. It doesn't. Strong EQ is feeling the emotion, acknowledging it, understanding where it came from, and choosing your response with intention. <-- THIS IS SO IMPORTANT! Just like we strengthen our bodies through movement and our hearts with compassion, we strengthen our emotional intelligence through practice. ✨ Pausing before reacting ✨ Listening to understand ✨ Setting healthy boundaries ✨ Taking accountability ✨ Leading with empathy As you move through the rest of this week and into the next, remember: Pause. Pause before reacting OR responding, before assuming, before taking something personally. Sometimes the most emotionally intelligent thing we can do is give ourselves a moment to breathe, observe, and choose our next step with intention.
