Something that could amplify The Traveling Good's impact...
Hey guys, I wanted to share something that's been very important to me personally and been working on for a while: which is a vision for how we as a people move from what currently is to something much more supportive and compassionate. The Traveling Good is already an incredible mission as it is. What's coming together is beautiful - community, creativity, fundraising, healing, storytelling, joy, dancing, togetherness. And it's going to touch so many hearts. There's just one thing that keeps coming up for me as I sit with the vision of the tour... something that feels like it might amplify the impact even more. When you guys come through a city, there will be many who feel uplifted, inspired, and hopeful. They'll see what's possible when people come together with kindness and intention, and it's going to be powerful. But afterward, once you guys have moved on and life goes back to normal in those areas for the most part, then what? Most people are not hungry just for inspiration, but for a clear sense of what's possible for our future as a country and as a people. Something to believe in for our future. So many are quietly starving (knowingly or unknowingly) for a hopeful, tangible vision of the kind of society we could build if we chose to - something compassionate, supportive, practical, and people-first. I'm not saying I have "the answer," but after a lot of meditation, reflection, and discernment, I believe these are the ideas of what a loving, compassionate society of people would choose for themselves to build a bridge from what currently is to what we are truly worthy and capable of: 1. Fund the People. Remove the biggest source of survival stress. Money and economies are only valuable because of the people. Not resources or material goods - people. The healthier the people, the healthier the economy will ultimately be. 2. Remind Businesses That They Exist to Serve and Enhance People's Wellbeing, Not Make Money. Competition is not where we thrive; cooperation is. If the people are funded for all their basic necessities, then businesses don't have to be built on survival and the goal of endless profits and growth. 3. Build Nervous System Healing Community Centers. Once we have the ability to rest, we have to learn how to rest for recovery, process emotions, heal the relationship to the mind and body, and build trust within our communities again. This is something that not enough awakening people are talking about. We have a desperate need for these types of spaces in our modern world, especially because so many right now are healing from survival trauma alone, feeling very unsafe, and losing faith and trust in people along the way.
