Let’s Talk Money: Business HYSAs 💰
One thing I like to do is keep my personal and business finances intentionally separate. My $10,000 Kiva 0% interest business loan will be deposited into a business high yield savings account (HYSA) until I need it. That way it can earn a little interest while I spend it thoughtfully over time. I also like having it separate because it makes it much easier to: - Track exactly how the loan money is being used. - Monitor my business spending. - Stay organized with repayments over the next three years. - Keep clean records for my business. It’s a simple system, but simple systems are often the easiest to stick with. When I’m researching financial products, NerdWallet is one of my favorite places to start because they do a great job comparing options and explaining the pros and cons. https://www.nerdwallet.com/business/banking/best/business-savings-accounts I genuinely enjoy talking about money, both personal and business. I’ve spent many years learning about budgeting, investing, debt, cash flow, and building multiple income streams, and I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned. What money questions do you have? Drop them in the comments and let’s learn together. PS- tomorrow we review June’s biz finances together! The Zoom link and the time are in the calendar tab! Join us for this coworking session!

You know I love Nerd Wallet!! 🤓 I also have a checking account and HYSA just for my business. I use Novo for checking and LOVE it. I can set up categories and percentages in the account so when money goes in, it automatically disperses into each bucket. I have four buckets now - Compensation, Business Expenses, Taxes, and IRA. I have my IRA contribution taken straight out of that account and then transfer the money from the taxes bucket to my HYSA a couple times a month. It's helped me stay really organized!

Let’s Get Organized This Summer! ☀️📂
Summer is the perfect time to simplify the systems behind your business. I’m spending this 12 week sprint organizing my folders, content pipeline, and dashboard so I always know what to work on next. Less searching. Less decision fatigue. More creating. What’s one area of your business you’d love to organize this summer? 👇 Share it below. We might be able to help each other with ideas and accountability. PS: I often drop off this goal and may need some extra accountability from you! 🙏🏻

I'm planning to spend July getting everything organized, materials, systems, everything. I think it's good to refresh at least once a year.
My husband and I love Mexican food 🌮
Tonight we walked to our favorite local restaurant for happy hour and enjoyed these gluten free flautas on corn tortillas. We are on the beautiful mountains of Colorado at our investment property. One thing we learned during our twelve years living abroad is that no matter where we were in the world, we always seemed to find a Mexican restaurant. There wasn’t nearly as much Mexican food in Europe and beyond as there is in the United States, which probably made us appreciate it even more. @Jen Sullivan was just sharing about her trip to Santorini, and it reminded me of one of our favorite memories. We rented a scooter and rode across the island to a Mexican restaurant. We loved it so much we went back a second time. 😄 We were living in Rome Italy at the time and on vacation. Apparently you can take us out of the Americas, but you can’t take away our love of Mexican food. What’s a food you always seek out when you travel?

We have been loving all the Greek food on this trip! Shorter term we always try to eat food local to where we are, so I’ll have to think about what we’d search for if we were somewhere longer. We do love Mexican, but I think pizza might make the list.
