Welcome to the Burned-Out Overachiever’s Lab
If you’re here, odds are you’re not lazy, lost, or unmotivated. You’re probably exhausted because you’ve been carrying too much for too long. Over-working. Over-functioning. Over-thinking. Over-responsibility. Over-explaining. Over-achieving your way straight into burnout. This Lab is about identifying the patterns that are quietly draining you and experiments that you can try to fill up your reserves to find some peace. What are you secretly tired of proving right now? That I delegate. I don't understand why everyone on my team keeps climbing up my a$$ saying that I need to delegate, don't delegate, or am bad at delegating. I have one person I can truly delegate to, and I am pretty good at delegating to her. At one point when I wasn't she and I had a talk about it and I realized she was ready for more, so I dished more to her until she said 'plate is full, stop'. She's behind on a couple of projects that I did delegate to her, but I am getting crap from my colleagues on the Senior Leadership Team for 'not delegating more' but come on... there is only so much I can delegate. I probably wouldn't be so overwhelmed or need to delegate so much if my leader would choose a direction and stick to it instead of constantly changing course and making my work worthless because the direction has changed. But hey... I'm not bitter or anything. 😄
