Veteran Needs?
What do American military veterans want most today? I think better healthcare access is needed for some veterans. My dr appts are set a month or two out and I have to drive an hour or more to a va clinic. How about you?

VA healthcare should be accepted at any Hospital or Specialist with zero co-pay or cost to veterans.
Marijuana moved to Schedule 3
Here's what that actually means for veterans. This is bigger than headlines, smaller than full legalization. For decades, marijuana was classified the same as heroin.Schedule 3 is the federal government finally saying: “This has medical value.” “This is not the most dangerous category.” That matters for vets. What this DOES mean:• VA doctors can talk more openly about cannabis• PTSD, pain, and sleep research just got easier• Less stigma in your medical records• Your VA disability pay is NOT affected by cannabis use. Your benefits are safe. What this does NOT mean (yet):• VA doctors still can’t prescribe it• VA pharmacies won’t dispense it• Federal jobs can still test for THC• It’s not federally legal recreationally. This is a door unlocking, not swinging open. For many veterans, cannabis has already been an alternative to:• Opioids• Sleep meds• Anxiety meds. Schedule 3 doesn’t validate usage, it validates reality. The system is slowly admitting:“We may have gotten this wrong.” Just like debt, healing doesn’t happen with one rule change. But changing the rules changes what’s possible next. If you’re a veteran navigating pain, PTSD, or sleep issues, stay informed.Momentum is building, even if the finish line isn’t here yet.

I appreciate your post, after getting out of the military I was on a ton of medication‘s. Nothing seem to help for the past 2 years. Being jobless and racking up debt. I contemplated Suicide just to turn the ringing off in my ear, weed is the only thing keeping alive.

How has everyone’s experience been with VA Disability?

It has saved my family from being homeless, and I have gotten to spend lost time with my kids.
Are civilians different than military soldiers?
What civilian weakness frustrates you the most — and why? I miss the military ranking because every one knows their place and how to move higher. In the civilian world, it is not as defined or documented.

@John Pogue I always told myself in the military it was an adventure. You never know what to expect and who you get to meet.

I joined the Air Force later in life. So working as a civilian my employers always asked me if I was military. It honestly depends on a person‘s work ethic.
Biggest win?
What’s been the biggest win for you since leaving the military—big or small?
