🧬 Mammograms Are Being Questioned — And It’s Time We Talk About Why
There’s a growing conversation happening right now around breast cancer screening. And it’s one that deserves more nuance than: 👉 “Just get your annual mammogram.” Because the truth is… Mammography is not a perfect tool. ⚠️ The Downfalls of Routine Mammography 1. Cumulative Radiation Exposure Mammograms use ionizing radiation. Is one scan dangerous? Mildly. But repeated exposure, year after year, decade after decade… 👉 That becomes a cumulative burden on the body. Especially for women already at higher genetic risk. (Like me!) 2. High False Positive Rates Up to 50–60% of women will experience a false positive over time. That means:• Unnecessary imaging• Biopsies• Anxiety and stress We’ve normalized a system that often creates fear… without clear answers. 3. Overdiagnosis Not every detected tumor is life-threatening. Some are slow-growing and may never cause harm… Yet are still treated aggressively. 👉 Detection without context can lead to overtreatment. 4. Not Effective for Dense Breast Tissue Many women (especially lean, athletic, or younger women) have dense breast tissue. Mammograms often: ❌ Miss tumors in dense tissue ❌ Provide a false sense of security 5. A System Focused on Detection — Not Cause This is the biggest issue. Mammograms look for :👉 What’s already there They do NOT address: • Why the tissue became vulnerable • What’s driving abnormal cell growth • The internal terrain that allowed it 🌿 Our Approach Is Different At Bedrock, we don’t rely on a single tool. We take a terrain + strategy approach. 1️⃣ We Assess Risk First Not every woman should follow the same screening schedule. Factors matter :• Genetics (BRCA, family history) • Metabolic health • Hormonal patterns • Lifestyle + toxin exposure 👉 “Assess, don’t guess.” 2️⃣ We Use Thermography as a Functional Tool Thermography looks at: • Heat patterns • Blood flow • Inflammatory changes ✔ No radiation ✔ Non-invasive ✔ Can detect early physiological changes This gives us insight into function before structure.

I canceled my mammogram this year after having one continuously for past 10 -15 years. I have dense tissue and many times over the years I have had to repeat mammograms and ultrasound due to questionable abnormalities. I have had 2 sisters with breast cancer that have recuperated. What do you recommend?

ANA (Autoimmune) - Leaky Gut - Histamine Connection
When a Doctor Says “Your ANA Is High” This phrase scares a lot of people. Because the next words often sound like: • autoimmune• connective tissue disease• lifelong condition• medication But let’s slow down and understand what this test actually measures. What ANA Really Means ANA = Antinuclear Antibodies Antibodies are proteins your immune system produces to protect you. An ANA test simply measures whether your immune system is making antibodies that react to parts of your own cells. Important: An elevated ANA does not diagnose a disease. It simply tells us: ➡️ The immune system is activated. That’s it. Why the Immune System Turns On The immune system doesn't wake up randomly. Something is stimulating it. In many cases that trigger comes from the gut and immune barrier. Remember: About 70% of the immune system lives around the digestive tract. When the gut environment becomes disrupted, the immune system often becomes more reactive. One Common Pathway: Gut → Histamine → Skin When the gut barrier is irritated or disrupted: 1️⃣ Certain bacteria can produce excess histamine 2️⃣ The body may struggle to break histamine down 3️⃣ Histamine accumulates in the system 4️⃣ The immune system becomes more reactive This can show up as: • facial rashes• flushing• itching• hives• food reactions And sometimes… ➡️ Elevated immune markers like ANA Why Skin Symptoms Matter The skin is often the immune system’s warning light. When the gut-immune axis is stressed, the body frequently signals through: • rashes• eczema• acne• rosacea• unexplained inflammation It’s not random. It’s communication. The Bedrock Approach Instead of starting with the assumption that the immune system is “broken,” we ask a different question: Why is the immune system reacting? That’s where deeper testing can help. For example, a stool analysis like GI-MAP can show: • bacterial imbalances• pathogens• parasites• inflammatory markers• intestinal barrier integrity That information helps us move from guessing → understanding.

@Leanna Cappucci yes, I do want to eat, I am still feeling hunger pains today

@Leanna Cappucci that sounds so much better. I actually have had cravings for carbs since I completed the fast yesterday. I am unclear about the aminos, is that something I need or can I do without. So just to clarify, I will get the same benefits if I do the lean proteins for 24 hour? When I do do it, can you set the plan for me?
Guided 72–84 Hour Fast (Gut + Immune Reset)
Hey Bedrock Nation — if you’re feeling puffy, inflamed, snacky, or like you need a clean “reboot,” this is one of my favorite tools to reset the terrain. ✅ I just uploaded our Guided 72–84 Hour Fast handout. It walks you through: - Why 72+ hours matters (gut microbiome + immune reset signals) - The stages of fasting (what’s happening in your body at 0–12, 12–24, 24–48, 48–72+ hours) - What to expect (hunger waves, energy shifts, brain fog → clarity) - Electrolyte strategy to make this feel doable - How to break the fast correctly so you don’t wreck your gut or digestion - A simple Sunday → Thursday 84-hour schedule you can follow Important: This is designed as a true guided protocol — not just “not eating.” Your plan matters. 🔗 Download the handout here: 🧂 Electrolytes we recommend: Hydrate, SALTT or our DIY electrolyte recipe "ketoraid" and possibly, IDLife LOAD or I AM Aminos for muscle support (see your team member for help) Before you start — comment below with: 1. Your start date (Mon is my favorite) 2. Your fasting goal (bloating, cravings, insulin resistance, autoimmune flare reset, etc.) 3. Your biggest concern (headaches, low energy, sleep, social events) I’ll be watching the thread and coaching you through the common speed bumps. 🤍— Leanna For more understanding on the how and why of fasting take the FREE mini course by clicking on the classroom tab above!

@Leanna Cappucci can I eat my eggs earlier than noon?

@Leanna Cappucci I did make it to 6:00 am today, is that 72? I wasn’t feeling that great when I first woke up, felt really weak. I did improve after the bone broth and electrolytes. I ended up eating my eggs at 9 and spread them out until 12. But reading your posts and others, it seems like people felt pretty good by this morning. The only day that I felt good was Tuesday
