This publishing thing is driving me nuts. My books are not intended for a large audience, are artful and becoming more so. I'm old. Every time I click on "it's easy to just plug your book into our template," it ain't easy. I would love a company that would allow me to actually work in their template. Any suggestions?

@Lynn Smargis I guess I will look at Canva. This whole publishing thing is so demoralizing. I've already given up a sculpture career and really have not found writing as compelling. I really wanted to say obsessive. I really think it might be time to just practice being and not keep making something our of what has already happened. Just let it pass through me. Being a creative all my life, I know that is not going to happen, but maybe just for today I can enjoy my family and let that be enough.
Tertulia: Author Website Builder
Hey friends & future authors: If you aren't a techie and you want to build an author website, I would recommend Tertulia. Thanks to @Delis Guzman for recommending this platform, I built my website in ten minutes! Here's the link to build your author website quickly and easily. https://authors.tertulia.com/invite/8aslp0

I did mine on Tertulia too, but had tons of questions which were answered quickly enough, but still it was arduous for me. Guess it's because I'm old and not computer savvy. But once I got it up, I'm pleased.

@Lynn Smargis I had specific questions for them and sometimes they would answer, once I even had a fifteen minute call with someone. They do many presentations, and I guess most questions are answered. But here is one thing I still haven't resolved with them: I cannot mark as fulfilled direct sales unless I add the very long tracking number, which I've done as much as I can now, but for my earliest sales I cannot find the USPS receipt with tracking numbers. They never indicated that I MUST put in the tracking numbers. I cannot find that info anywhere on their many presentations. I am not a professional writer, this writing thing coming only after my body got so afflicted with arthritis that I had to stop my sculpting career and then there is the sad conclusion to my biggest sculpture, my house that I handbuilt burned down so I just had to resurrect it in my first book. Thus my writing "career" started with "Handmaking My House And Building My Life."

I brought my first memoir "Handmaking My House And Building My Life" to our local book store for review and hopefully inclusion in their store.

Thanks Lynn, I'm still not too sure I "belong" with the "Leaders" aspect. I'm a creative who has made a whole lot of stuff.

Retired sculptor using anything form bark to skate boards. Now I'm old, avoiding power tools and just published my first book.
