Happy Thanksgiving Ya'all!
I just updated several courses in the classroom with books and resources that may be helpful! They range from Classical Guitar, Blues Guitar, Rock Guitar, Reading Sheet Music (Music Theory), and more... Let me know if any of it is useful to you!!! I am thankful for everyone of you! May your Thanksgiving be filled with many blessings, gratitude, and much to be thankful for!

My first thought was a Buddy Holly song, but I couldn’t remember the name of it

@Melvin Williams well now I’ve gotta go play it
Nashville Numbering System
A lot of people use this these days to better understand and remember chord progressions. While studying music before and during my university studies, I learned them as Roman Numerals to differentiate from the scales and the intervals contained within (more on this later) But this confuses some people if they don’t know and understand Roman Numbers as well. So here’s a few charts to help you figure this out… let me know if you have any questions about it… Most common progressions include 1, 4, 5, and 1 6m 4 5, or 1, 2m 3m, 4, 5… You can also substitute chords within a key for other chords… like subbing the 2m for the 4, or the 6m for the 1, or the 7d for the 5(7)… Questions…?!

@Melvin Williams awesome - yea this was super helpful when learning. And always good to revisit
Guitar chords
Looking for a chord? Here’s a good chart… part of my method is that you only really need 5 chords, CAGED, and then you just need to know how to make them barre chords and modify them for sus2, sus4, add2, add4, add9, etc… I would love to do a course or workshop just on how to construct various chords… I started creating a jazz chord course, that I need to finish… Let me know if there is any interest in this, in any style…

Learning the caged method was a game changer. Opened up all kinds of cords. The thing I gotta go back and do is the national numbers again. But this helps because once you learn the numbers, you know where all the court variants are

@Melvin Williams yeah, I learned it a little while back because I played in a worship band and they would change keys all the time. So is easier to learn the songs by the Nashville numbers so I could remember the progressions in the different keys.
Smokestack..
