Lichficer
Has anyone thought about making an Arttificer that becomes a Lich? I think a cool Villian idea would be a Lich Artificer that uses their Steel Defender(Battle Smith) or their Armor(Armorer) for their body, while their Phsylactery is their Homonculus(so it can move and stay hidden)

Do you WANT terminators in D&D? Because THIS is how you get TERMINATORS in D&D!
What is your current build for a character your playing?
Hello guys. I am curious to hear what characters you are playing at the moment. I'll start with a short intro to the setting 🙂 I am currently playing in a campaign set in a homebrew world named Usalia. In this 2nd campaign, in this world, this time we are playing in the continent Emerise Empire - a desert land filled with uneasy alliances between great clans and a heavy dose of honor and traditions. And more importantly, a new resource called Unobtanium, which has groundbreaking properties for magical Tech. Something the people of Emerise is not interested in, since it would completely change their way of life. This combination is halting technical progression, wich have left opportunity for outside influences, whom promise power and wealth to the Emperor of Eremise. This is a recipe for nationwide conflict and a legitimate reason for other Clans to challenge the current Emperor for the seat of power. Aight, so. I'm playing a half elf Swashbuckler rouge/warlock. I was not ment to, since I really liked @Sage Crane swashbuckler battlemaster with double bladed scimitar. Alas, at some point in the story, we freed an old spirit from a tomb, and I used that opportunity to get a ginie patrion. Here is the build Rouge (Swashbuckler) 4 lvl. Warlock (ginie) 5 lvl. pact of the chain Invocations: Eldritch mind gift of the ever living ones ( we play with no auto full hp on long rest) Mask of many faces Feats: Lvl 4 rouge - elven accuracy In combat: Plays like a melee rouge. Going in with the spell shadow blade and booming blade and tries to land one good hit, with the help of elven accuracy/advantage from familiar or being on dim light or darkness. That's 4d8 + 2d6 + 8 (and we do like crits) And then move away to try and trigger 2d8 from booming. Out of combat. I'm high charisma with expertise skills to back it up. My little imp buddy is so great for scouting and infiltration. Basically all my spells from warlock goes into infiltration and espionage.

@Steffen Hansen I love that you're including so much flavor and backstory. I find that a lot of groups are kinda....crunch-driven. If you don't maximize the class you're doing it wrong. I don't study thie numbers for that kind of play. I like to build character's, not stat blocks

@Steffen Hansen agreed. build the story then stat the hero
Great Stories
What are some of the best moments you've had playing RPGs? I would love to hear about your critical successes, epic failures, or weird off the wall unexpected outcomes.

online game only lasted 1 or 2 sessions before falling apart. Set in Krynn, Dragonlance setting. I think 2nd ed. The DM was a little loose on Char options, and let me put together a minotaur who had defected from the Queens armies. there were also 2 Kender in the group. Anyways, our first foray out, it was supposed to just be a way to introduce our characters' fighting styles or whatever, had the 2 Kender out exploring a riverbank as the rest of us just walked through the grasslands the river ran through. Of course they get jumped (by 2 of some sort of giant crab?). Anyways, everyone starts charging in to try and get to them, but it's going to take a couple of turns. I run up to a certain point, stop and throw 2 axes at them. Time to roll Damage, and I announce that will be a +18. Someone stops and says, "What do you mean +18?!?" To which I replied, "Well...I AM a minotaur..." "Oh....right..." 🤣

Undead or not? There is a Short on Y-tube that mentions how Mimics can take the shape of any OBJECT....and technically a dead body is considered an object. So, imagine a zombie apocalypse style game. There's a large-ish town the party comes across with rumors of something happening to some of it's people. someone will disappear for a day, only to return but...something is off. There is a growing "family" of mimics that is slowly taking over the town. in the form of the dead bodies left behind by another. The original mimics are smaller, possibly a collection of coins brought in by previous travellers. but there is another creature actually killing people in town for the mimics to then, well, eat and mimic. Somethiing like a vampire or intellect devourer that has no need of the body once it's done feeding. The Players might realize these people are no longer truly living people, believing them to be undead, but clerical abilities don't seem to affect them....it becomes a nightmare of their own assumptions.
