Went all out and brought bunch of clone fragrances to try. Still learning what are notes, whats good for the weather in Singapore. I always joked that Singapore has Summer and indoor winter because our aircon here is so cold, making it a challenge of what fragrance to wear. Today I want to thank @Jeffrey Conyers infinitely for the following: A few weeks ago I reduced My participation in the BOS an JEFFREY kindly and genuinely inquired about the reason for My reduced participation, I Shared with Him that I was going through a difficult time personaly and that I was feeling down. He spontaneously and brotherly told me that he would find a fragrance that would lift My spirit, and he did. THANK YOU THANK YOU JEFFREY. BROTHERS TOGETHER STRONG. For This reason today I'm wearing CHIC FOR MEN BY CAROLINA HERRERA. AN EDT. Launched in 2004. A Fresh spicy olfative family fragrance. THE nose behind This fragrance are: Carlos Benaïm, Ann Gottlieb and Jean-Marc Chillan. It opens with a Fresh citrus combo (bergamot and mandaríne) and cardamom notes in the middle a pepper and cinnamon touch notes and finished Woody, Amber and lighty sweet Tonka Bean notes. An enjoyable drydown with spicy/woody/lighty sweet notes. Projection 2-3hrs Sillage 1mt Stay on skin 4-6hrs.

Aside from asking others if they can pick up your scent, how do you reliably test projection and sillage? And, what is the actual difference between the two terms? After my typical spray routine, I am confident that I have created a scent bubble around me because I can smell it coming off both shoulders, etc., but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s pushing out beyond 6-12 inches. Without asking someone or getting a compliment, how do you know? Just curious if the brotherhood has any tips when it comes to testing projection and sillage.

So we all know I got a soft spot for the Leather note. From Memo Paris to Tom Ford, I can’t get enough. Maison Alhambra, the shameless house that turned me onto leather with their Memo Paris clone, Afro Leather. Now they have this one, formally known as Amber & Leather, they recently changed the name to Opulence Leather, yet another blatant knock off from my favourite Ombre Leather by Tom Ford. Its very similar in fact to another fantastic clone also known as Amber Leather by Escent. It opens up with that beautiful spicy Cardamon, before moving into a floral/Leather heart of Jasmin Sambac & Leather Accord. As it settles into the dry down, you get the Amber, Moss & Patchouli. Its beautifully crafted, not quite as refined as the Tom Ford, but your gonna pay a hefty price for that. While it captures much of Ombré Leather’s vibe (about 80-95% similarity), it is leather-forward with amber as a supporting note, differing slightly from Tom Ford’s more amber-centric opening. The fragrance is slightly more linear in scent development compared to the deeper dry-down of Ombré Leather. Performance is not too shabby a good 6hrs on my skin, with an acceptable protection for roughly half that time. At this price I got no issue with topping up throughout the day. If you appreciate leather fragrances with a luxurious touch but want a budget-friendly option, Opulence Leather is highly recommended to test or try My Rating 8/10 Scent 2.5 Longevity 2.5 Sillage 2 Y/N 1
