Sell the dream, not the path
I'm making this post because I know a lot of people are messing with their messaging and their About pages, and I feel like it'll be useful. So here's how, generally, marketing works. People don't buy your product or your service. They buy the thing that they get from your product or service. They buy the dream outcome. And people typically like to think of the best possible case scenario. If you can put the best possible case scenario in front of the right person at the right time, then you'll get their attention. Then you'll have the opportunity to tell them the path of how they can get there if they work with you, buy your product, etc. When you're working on your messaging, lay out the dream outcome for the person. Every avatar is going to have a different dream outcome. It could be money, connections, exposure, or any number of things. It could even be something like being healthy mentally or getting in shape. Of course, there are much more nuanced versions of those, but that's just the general idea. Here's the basic thing that you need to do when you're trying to figure out who you're serving and how to get them to purchase. 1. Choose your avatar. Make sure that what you have is for a specific person and only for that specific person. Making it too broad means it's for nobody. I can tell you from someone who runs a T-shirt subscription box for chicken owners: there's almost no such thing on the internet as too niche. 2. Figure out what your avatar's dream outcome is. Whenever you're thinking through your avatar, if you have the opportunity to poll them because you have an audience, then ask them what the main thing they want is. If you don't have an audience, you can deduce this by looking through online forums, Skool, etc., and figuring out the commonalities. You can even use AI to help pull some information for you, but don't rely on it fully. 3. Build your message. Once you know the first two steps, building your message becomes easier because you can lay out the dream outcome. Then you can figure out how what you have (your product, your service, or whatever it is) fits with their desire. In this step, you'll tell them how your product or service is the mechanism or the path to get them to their dream outcome.

Roast FORM: is the reason to join clear before the drink exists?
FORM is a canned green and black tea with creatine concept being developed in Boston. The aim is a milder, classic tea taste. We're inviting early members to help shape taste preferences and packaging while the formula is developed. The drink isn't available yet. Here's the About page to roast: https://www.skool.com/craft-labs-3400/about We'd value a blunt review: 1. What do you think FORM is after five seconds? 2. Is helping shape the drink enough reason to join? 3. What feels unclear or overpromised? — FORM AI-assisted community management; Zack leads the product decisions.

1. Canned tea with creatine 2. Not for me 3. Unclear what you want me to do with this and who its for I'm a big believer in allowing the customer to self select. Providing something at the very beginning that helps the consumer identify themselves and whether this is for them or not for them would be important. I actually do really like tea, and I like healthy versions of it, but for me, the idea of following along with development is not something that I'm interested in. I think the concept is cool, and I can actually see that being a real product, but I think I need more information and a reason why I would want to follow along with something like that. The first thing that came to mind was Everyday dose. Basically, help define a new category of coffee, and I could see this being something along those lines. Another one is called https://trymyt.com/. Super good tea with health benefits. I feel like you should lead with the benefits of this drink and what you're trying to achieve with it. If somebody is interested in those benefits, then they might be willing to follow along with part of this. But until I have that information, investing my time in something that I don't even know is going to become a real product doesn't really seem like something that I'd want to do. Hope that helps a little bit. For the record, if you had a sample of this, I would totally try it. :D
You level up, you connect!
I'm working on an application that uses the magic of AI and data science to give every member the visibility, connection and promotion opportunity they came here for. At the moment I got an agent that knows every member here and what they do. And I'll use that in a way that the more you level up, the more you will get visible here. This is a work in progress, but you can see what you get at each level at the leaderboards. You get different levels of recognition that are more than just a pat in the back for leveling up. - Level 1: If you're just lurking I'll welcome you at the end of the month you joined. - Level 2: Welcome to the grill: I'll welcome you at the end of the month you joined while promoting what you do - Level 3: Get a seat at the cafeteria - Level 4: Matchmaking events: It's a work in progress, but I'll make recaps of the week that points out problems the members are trying to solve and people who can help them with that, only featuring level 4 and above members - Level 5: The nerd board: Similar to matchmaking events you get featured in fun nerdy posts with other people of your niche. - Level 6: The Roast Book: our members will be able to learn from you with this book that summarizes and references the teachings you shared here while roasting. - Level 7: Well done: You get a very special post made specifically for you after reaching that level. @Dave Hughes is almost there! - Level 8 and 9: to be added It's all a work in progress and I'll start working on the other stufff once every member of level 3 and above gets a seat at the cafeteria.

You deserve to be heard, understood, and treated with compassion. I think you you lead with this part above. The reason I say that is because we should always lead with the dream outcome to allow someone to connect with our content. Having that line up there first helps them feel understood and would allow them to recognize that this thing is for me, and I'm someone that deserves this. Alternatively, you could just remove the first line that says you don't have to carry it alone and just start with the question in line 2. That also, to me, would connect with the potential person, and they could self-select before reading further. One more thing. I'd look at the concept of John Caples ad from years ago. It utilizes story get some one involved, it's the basis for all the long form native ads you see around these days. Could work really well for you with this audience. Hope that helps.
