A good day after a bad day
I had a whole weekend off this weekend, which doesn't happen often! So I got to spend some much needed quality time with Mr Kipps. The beautiful photo I took on Saturday. Horse people will recognise that this is a very tense horse. I took him for a lovely walk around on the property where he lives and well, it wasn't lovely, or a walk 🫣 Bucking, rearing, cantering around me, spooking and nipping all happened within this 10 minute walk. This is NOT usual behaviour for Kippy. However, I had recently started him back on fibre mash because he wasn't eating his feeds. So I decided after making it back to the field alive (only just), I would stop the fibre mash. 24h later I took him for an actual lovely walk around (video). Saturday was the first time in nearly 2 years of knowing him, my horse genuinely scared me. He wasn't being aggressive towards me, he was communicating. So it was important for me to take him out again on Sunday so I knew I could trust him again. And the explosive behaviour, I think is a soy sensitivity and/or potential ulcers, so I will be doing further investigations.
