I just decided to give up caffeine. Not really the chief concern I have as of late, but I'm making a ginger lemon thing in the mornings that I've frozen into ice cubes, and with a little bit of honey and/or stevia, it's just the act of holding a warm beverage that I need. I'm curious to see if I feel any different! My consumption was creeping up, so I'm seeing what happens. We talk about an experimental mindset here all the time, so I'm leaning in. I think it's important to periodically make changes, as that's what we're asking our clients to do all the time!

@Jeanna Finch I don't think I'm experiencing any withdrawal. It was typically 2 cups in the morning, and I re-used those two bags in a third cup, which was probably rendered decaf at that point! Anything else later was decaf or green, so not that much. I just felt like I was always *wanting* it, which is never a good sign. I might consider other yummy stuff to freeze into ice cubes that could be dropped into hot water. Any other ideas!? I could even freeze bone broth into cubes and then I could have several cups and it wouldn't matter.

@Kyra Borjon Hi Kyra! Totally valid concern. We see people all the time who have tried so many times that they think it can't be done, and we are all about doing this in a way where you aren't starving, and I think that's the ticket. New habits can be hard, but not as hard when you are not hungry, and that's our plan. I wonder how many people might benefit from this reassurance? That sure, you might have some cravings in the beginning, but as blood sugar stabilizes, they diminish greatly! We talk about all of this both in Mindset Mastery as well as our Emotional Eating courses. And I agree with Jeanna - please invite people in. It's a low-stakes way of seeing what it's all about and deciding when one is ready.

To share more as a continuation of my post from earlier, let’s look at juice a little closer. Actually, this visual says it all! As Dr. Steve says, if you really want some fruit and that is what is causing you to pick juice, just eat the fruit! 😁

That visual would be enough to sell me alone! Could you put it in a broader context, @Jeanna Finch , as in how many grams of sugar a day is actually healthy for us? Clearly the whole fruit has way less sugar than the juice, but what should people be striving for?
