@Adex Felicia From reading your conversation and in relation to my own experience in voice work, I imagine authenticity is something that emerges and becomes more apparent through one's practice. For instance, technical achievement perhaps leading to less self consciousness, expression will become more natural....

@Adex Felicia what you are saying is interesting Adex. I am still training and I think there is flux on the way to achieving goals. Even early on there can easily be genuine expression, (won’t that be part of personal choice?) but it may not sound sophisticated. Practises can bring better control of desired features of singing (pitch, tone, timbre, volume, and pace) expression is then going to be more or less effortless. And, although trained, appearing more natural can indicate (one’s achievement) various levels towards mastery.
Vocal workshop starts Monday
In case you missed it, our 5-day Vocal Production Workshop with Austen Jux-Chandler (Adele, Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Kali Uchis) starts this coming Monday, March 2nd, at 12pm Eastern Time. If you don't have your ticket yet, it's not too late. Grab a ticket here before the event starts on Monday. I have included the original post below with all the info. Hope to see lots of you there! Leave a comment below if you're coming 🔥 ------------- Super excited to share something with you today that's a first of it's kind for Mastering.com We're hosting an exclusive 5-day Vocal Production workshop where you'll get to learn the A to Z of recording and mixing vocals from Adele's very own engineer. Introducing Austen Jux-Chandler. Austen won a Grammy for recording Adele on her album, 25. In the attached photos, can see him on stage (second from the left) accepting the Grammy with Adele. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Austen has also recorded Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, A$AP Rocky, SZA, Mark Ronson, and John Legend. He has earned a reputation as one of the top vocal producers in the world. We recently hung out with Austen at Lion Share Studios in LA, where he told us that he prefers to record at his artist's homes, rather than multi-million dollar studios. It helps create a more comfortable environment that improves the performance, he said. That's when I knew we had to do something with Austen, so he could show you step-by-step how he's able to record Grammy-winning vocals in a bedroom. So, starting March 2nd, Austen is going to spend 5-days with students live on Zoom, teaching his entire methodology from session prep to recording, editing, comping, mixing, creative effects, and more. Austen has never opened up his process like this before, so don't miss this chance to learn from one of the best in the industry. 🎤 SINGER CHECK BE HONEST
Every singer has that one thing we secretly do… Some of us warm up for 30 minutes like professionals…Some say my voice is tired today but still attempt high notes Some record 40 takes and somehow choose take #3…Some turn every song into harmony without permission And some of us are full concert performers… only in the shower But let’s talk real singer life… Are you the studio perfectionist, the stage energy machine, the emotional storyteller, the car concert superstar, or the family-forced singer anytime people say sing something for us ? As singers, we know it’s not only about technique sometimes it’s confidence, sometimes emotion, sometimes practice… and sometimes just surviving voice cracks at the wrong moment So tell me quickly which singer are YOU? describe yourself!

I need to focus on consistent effort to develop my voice from where it’s at. Nice post!
Thanks for your Patience
As we go thru the adjustments in Platform, Mentors, and Other misc changes in our Membership program, I would first like to thank all of you for your patience, and let you know that everything we are doing is with the intention of making better for you, the members. On our end, we will always have to deal with the normal "life get's in the way" issues, such as personnel changes, curriculum improvements, schedule conflicts, and even the birth of future musicians and engineers (congrats @Luke Despain and @Damian Baca on your babies) Please take the time to check out the Calendar for schedule changes in Mentor Times and Events. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me, or come to the Town Hall on Mondays. If you have any suggestions on how we can help you better, please DM me those too. We look forward to helping each of you move forward through your journey in your education. If you are a VIP or are looking to upgrade to a VIP membership, please look at the poll and give us your thoughts on times for the mentor calls - We are happy you are here (The poll is based on Eastern Time ... answer accordingly)

What you do is very good! The time I often seemed to get a call was around 9pm GMT or later. Though sometimes mid afternoon ( 3 -5 pm) also worked. Now I need to try and book my mentor call, but cannot see the tab or where I go for that. I will try to join on one that I see is booked for today, to learn. Thanks for your help Nick, Jane
