Always nice eating at a restaurant and seeing one of your wines on the wine list! Shows that Bistro Wines really does provide great restaurant-quality wines - no compromises! 👌
Try a bottle of Fairmile from Henley on Thames (normally more famous for its annual rowing Regatta). Last year, scored more points than many famous Champagnes during an international blind-tasting competition: https://www.fairmilevineyard.co.uk/
Like with children, we shouldn't really have a favourite, but I would agree the Founder's Reserve 2015! This came from our maiden vintage, which Decanter wine magazine rated as England's only "outstanding" sparkling wine - then we gave it an additional four years' lees-ageing, making seven years in total.
My favourite wine? I bought my first bottle of English (still wine) during the 1980's - and it wasn't great - my friend and I only drank it because it was comparatively expensive! Times have moved on, and thanks to climate change, English wines are becoming class-leaders. Our fizz regularly beats all-comers in blind tastings, and we also have some great still white wines. Our reds are gaining traction as global temperatures increase - so do try some if you get the opportunity. Hobbies? Well, gardening, obviously, as I'm supposed to know about growing stuff!
