Happy Day!
My cilantro, sea holly, bachelors buttons, and borage (pictured first) have germinated! Hurrah! I also dug up some elderberry (second pic) at my friends' house and potted it up. I'll need to find a spot where it can spread and not encroach on other plants or obstructions. The bigger pots are mint I needed to relocate. Did anyone discover anything new in your garden or orchard today?

Hi all! I’m excited to be apart of the community, I’m hoping to continue on my gardening journey and connect with like minded folks. I’m located in growing zone 6a. My favorite food to grow is butternut squash 😋

@Jackie Ferguson I'm a big butternut fan too.. How does everyone cook them... I slice in half, clean it out, put butter in, put back together with tin foil and back them...

Pepper Garland
I dried some peppers from my fall garden in my laundry room. They're great for adding to soup or chili. I will grind some of them as well for seasoning. Do any of you preserve your fruits, vegetables, or herbs that you grow?

I found this wiggly fatty today while planting beets. I could feel my chickens eyeballing him, but I covered him up. Earthworms are the best! Not only do their tunnels aerate the soil and improve drainage but their castings are full of nutrients. I feel guilty whenever I fish with them! What's your favorite helper in the garden?

@Paula Boggan very nice... worm casting as so valuable in making extract.

This is a short video of what I did one nice day this week. I'm preparing my winter sowing jugs. I should've started early February, but I've been too busy. We have enough cold weather left anyway. 🌬️❄️ If you like, please share your own video of what you're working on currently outdoors. 🌱

@Paula Boggan Do you save seeds every year... If so, maybe you can mail me a couple next year... or a tomato to gather my own :-)
