Pollinators
Is anyone else seeing huge declines in pollinator populations? I’m lucky to se one bee on a 3 mile walk. It’s making me very sad.

@Leslie Dyer hopefully they'll show up soon! 🐝

@Ryan Swords yes! I was surprised at how many types of smaller bees I saw during the pollinator count.

@Pat Joseph we have such a long growing season here in Alabama that you could plant just about anything! Definitely not more cool weather plants, but tomatoes, squashes, cucumbers, peppers, herbs... Go for it! I often find that my succession planted tomatoes and peppers do even better in the fall. Last year we were still picking tomatoes well into November.
What's Coming Up?
I picked some pumpkins this weekend. Last year the armadillos scratched a lot of them up, so I couldn't enter those at the county fair...but I still got 1st and 3rd place on my ornamental pumpkin and butternut squash! I'm on top of it this year. Me - 1, Armadillos- 0. What's everyone harvesting this week?

@Pat Joseph no! Plant now and they'll be ready in the fall. 🎃
How important is it to weed?
Like is it even worth my time to pull up little green weeds that are close to my tomato plant or should I just be looking out for big weeds?

I usually leave the little stuff. Bare ground naturally wants to cover itself. It helps hold moisture in. Natural mulch!
Any tips for basil?
I have some basil in the ground but one already wilted entirely. How often should I water?

@Pat Joseph I water daily when plants are getting started for sure but then every other. Basil definitely likes more water than say lavender or rosemary.i try to plant like things together based on their water needs.
