Astrology is a science and an art.  The science is numerical and is very similar to astronomy.  The art part requires intuition to perceive what the celestial positions mean to human communities.  Communities are made up of people with birthdays scattered throughout the year.  A talented astrologer knows what it means to be born in the dead of winter and what will happen as those conditions return year after year.
