Outside Unplugged!
🌳 Prescription for today: 10 minutes outside, phone left indoors Daylight, fresh air, and a change of scenery do more for cortisol and mood than most of us give them credit for. It's free, it's fast, and it works with your body instead of against it. No step count, no goal — just get outside for 10 minutes today, notice something (a smell, a bird, the temperature), and leave your phone behind. TIP: If you love hearing the sound of the birds but don't know what bird you're listening to, try this app https://merlin.allaboutbirds.org/ I use it all the time.📲 There's an area we walk the dog every evening across the road from us in the woods with a pond and stream. My app is detecting a kingfisher. How cool is that? Can't wait to see it 🤞🏻 Where did you go, and what did you notice? Tell me below 👇
Outside Unplugged!
I use the Merlin app for birding - it does hear more birds that I ever see though 😉
🎧 Today's little gift: press pause with Malte Marten
If you're anything like me, "relax" is easier said than done — especially when stress and cortisol are already messing with your sleep, your blood sugar, and yes... your middle. I stumbled upon the handpan music of Malte Marten and it stopped me in my tracks. It's the kind of sound that gives your nervous system permission to switch off, even just for ten minutes. Why it matters for us: when we're stuck in "go go go" mode, cortisol stays high — and that directly feeds blood sugar swings, bloating, and stubborn menopause middle fat. A few minutes of calm isn't indulgent, it's physiological. 🎵 Search "Malte Marten" on YouTube or Spotify — pop it on while you make dinner, do your evening stretch, or just sit with a cuppa. Try it today and tell me below: did it help you switch off, even a little? 💛

Grab that pen and paper (or open a note on your phone) and watch my video (link below) 👇 I'll walk you through a simple self-assessment based on my functional medicine training — tick off what's true for you as we go, and by the end you'll know whether it's your Gut, Blood Sugar, or Stress/Adrenals that needs your attention most right now. You're some of the very first to try this 💚 👇 Once you've watched it, comment below with your top area — I'll then personally send you the link to your starter guide, recipes and more for exactly that area. And because you're testing this with me first, I'd love your honest feedback — did it make sense? Did your result feel right? https://www.skool.com/thriveover50/classroom/d04b9e74?md=883e69cb39314321a99ed2dc6b34396d

Hello Jackie, Honest feedback? 😁 I liked the start "take a piece of paper and a pencil, make 3 columns ..." but then would have prefered NOT to see your chart but to have you describe each symptom telling us which column to note it in if we had it. I found the small letters and sometimes a capital letter a bit confusing...g or G, si, A But having said that Thank you for all the work you do for us . I'm mainly in the BS (blood Sugar) column with 5 and 3 in the gut. (Sorry for any spelling mistakes English was never my strongest point and this flipping computer things I should type only in French!! 😉)
Quick heads up 👇
Monday I'm dropping something I've built using my functional medicine training — a simple video assessment that helps you figure out whether it's your gut, your blood sugar, or stress/adrenals driving how you're feeling right now. Grab a pen and paper before Monday — you'll want it 📝 Can't wait to hear what you think. Have a great weekend - let me know in the comments what you're up to! My partner and I are going down to Hampshire to stay with the 86 year old Mum and then on our return, we're out celebrating one of my friend's 60th Sunday evening.🥳🥂
