Great Solo Cover
I just saw this great cover of Kee Marcello’s solo on ”More Than Meets The Eye” by our fellow community member (and also a member of Pro) @Josh Mark Raj pop up on Kee’s Instagram story. Very cool! Great job Josh!

Sick @Josh Mark Raj! Especially love how the tapped vibrato sounds as strong as picked
G6PD - first official release with my lead parts
Hi All, I'm a student in Pro, and @Jon Bjork advised that I share this here in the big group. December 2025 I've been invited to take over the lead guitar role in G6PD, one of the oldest Thai metal bands from Chiang Mai. We've played some shows including a couple of festivals including Rock Alarm in Bangkok, and I'm also recording all the lead parts for the upcoming album. So here is the first official single visualiser released yesterday, please enjoy whoever is interested. Need to mention that Jon played a part in me being invited, giving me some invaluable advice on how to prepare for the audition. Also things I've learned in Pro help me write and play quite technical stuff for the songs yet to be released. Anyway, enjoy and give us a follow whoever is interested in metal with Northern Thai flavour.

@Andy Martine Hey man normally I don't use tabs and try to play by ear, unless it's something complex like The Black Dahlia Murder. I can make tabs for you though but it takes time, let me know what part do you want to learn first, and I will do it part by part. Or I can show some parts slowly, if you want. You will need a 7 string guitar tuned to Drop G.
What Do You Guys Do When You Travel?
I am soon leaving for 2 weeks of vacation. I will be brining my Strandberg and my Nano Cortex along to be able to practice/play while I am gone. I will definitely not force myself to do my regular amount of time, but aim for about half so that I can go with the flow of being on vacation as well. Because this trip is by car, it is easy for me to bring what I need. When I travel for work sometimes however, I go by plane, and the time/space required for bringing a guitar is not ideal. I have tried a lot of things (i.e. travel sized acoustic and electric guitars) but it always ended in frustration, as the tools/solutions just don't seem to be adequate, and often my schedule chaotic. I have recently settled on getting an Elektron groove box (Digitone 2) that I can use in the airport, on the plane, hotel, or wherever I have a bit of time, to work on melodies (theory), backing tracks, etc. It has turned out to be a revelation for me. I can learn more about chord progressions, or how to build drum patterns, or things like that. All complimentary to my playing, and it keeps my mind in music, and helps me develop some new skills. Back at home, I can play along with it, and use it as an metronome on steroids :-) What do you guys do?

Donner Hush Pro X saved my life travel-wise. It’s a (mostly) undisputed cabin luggage, and it weighs roughly a kilo. Also has impeccable stainless steel frets (a bit too small for my taste and only 22 of them) and an acceptable sound if recorded via interface. For practice, it has onboard DSP with lots of amp models and loadable IRs (not that anyone would need them but I’ve tried and they work) and overall decent sound in headphones. Taking it with me to every trip, car or plane.

Sweep into Alternate Picking Challenge
This week's challenge will have you combine sweeping with descending sixes using the Lydian scale. Check out the full video and THEN the tabs😁 Seriously though, the videos are there to give you some additional tips that'll help you improve faster. Post your progress through the week and let me know if you have any questions!

@Jon Bjork yeah I’m a bit of theory nerd. Ok sure will do!

@Jon Bjork looks like this take at 180 is cleaner than the previous one at 160 except the two obvious places, and this time I also didn’t hide behind palm muting and tried to play everything as honestly as possible. Also it helped me understand that my perfect tempo wasn’t perfect, so I’ve isolated the most problematic moment (around the tritone jump on the G string) and will drill it even slower.

Music theory didn’t ruin me. It just made me insufferable.
