I once chose a program over rent. My landlord was not happy. This was the second month I hadn’t paid rent. I was broke. Not "I can't eat out this week" kind of broke. The real kind. The kind where you open your M-Pesa and the balance looks like a phone number with multiple zeros following each other. I had just enough for one thing. Pay rent and stay comfortable. Or buy a program and bet on myself. I bought the program and my wife was mad about it. My landlord got a very creative explanation and a promise that took two weeks longer than it should have. But that program became the foundation of everything I've built since. Here's what that decision taught me. Comfort is the most expensive thing you can buy when you're building something. Rent kept us safe for 30 days. The program kept paying me for years. One was a cost. The other was an investment. They looked the same on M-Pesa. They were completely different in outcome. Most people will never make that trade. And that's fine. Not everyone is building what I'm building. But if you are building something, there will be moments where you have to choose between what's comfortable and what's necessary. And the right choice will almost always feel wrong in the moment. Nobody clapped when I bought that legacy builders program . ( infact my wife was mad at me for a week) Nobody said "great investment, Sam." People thought I was being reckless. The same people now ask me how I make money online, how I quit my job, how I drive the car I drive. I'm not telling you to skip rent. I'm telling you to recognize the moments that matter. The moments where one decision separates the version of you that stays comfortable from the version of you that builds something real. That program cost me $900. It made me my first $100,000 in 10 months , It paid off my rent 5 months advance , It paid off debt I had accrued in the bank and Sacco, It made me a self made millionaire in under 30 years, it bought me a home so I never pay rent again, it got me freedom so I never have to work in employment again, it settled my mum and grandma with their own homes.
