Hiring My First OA VA – Looking for Advice
Looking for some advice from those of you who've hired VAs for OA. I'm at the point where I think it's time to bring on my first VA. My current workflow is centered around building a Seller ID database, researching seller storefronts in Keepa, and finding profitable products for Amazon Canada. For those who've been through this before, what would you have your first VA start with? How did you train them, what tasks did you delegate first, and what mistakes should I avoid? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

For those of you using VAs for the storefront method, how do you handle the gating issue? Do you give your VA limited access to your Amazon Seller Central account so they can see your ungating status, or do you use a different workflow? I'm curious how everyone has set this up while keeping their account secure and making the process efficient. Thanks!

Filters
For those of you who source using seller IDs, how often do you go back and re-run your existing seller ID database? Do you have a systematic process for it? Also, what kinds of Keepa Product Finder filters do you typically rotate through when revisiting old seller IDs? I'm trying to figure out the best way to consistently uncover new opportunities from the same sellers.

@Christian Cabatay Wow, that's impressive, $7k from a personal list of only 40+ sellers. Sounds like the quality of the seller IDs matters more than the quantity. Do you find that most of your wins still come from re-mining those same sellers over and over, or are you constantly replacing them with new ones? I'm trying to figure out how much effort should go into mining existing sellers versus discovering new ones.

Beauty legit retailers
Are Stylevana and YesStyle.ca legitimate websites? Or is it better to buy from Sephora even though their prices are higher? Also, if I get an IP complaint on Amazon, will Amazon accept receipts/invoices from Stylevana and YesStyle.ca as proof of authenticity?

What category are you actually sourcing right now?
A lot of beginners ask: “What’s the best category to sell in?” Beauty? Grocery? Toys? Clothing? Electronics? Home and kitchen? Honestly, the category matters less than people think. A bad lead in a “good” category is still a bad lead. And a boring product in a category nobody talks about can still be a great buy if the data is there. That is especially true on Amazon Canada. We have different retailers, different competition, different fees, different inventory depth, and different buy box behaviour than the U.S. So don’t just copy what American sellers are doing. Use categories as a starting point. Then let Keepa, profit, seller count, buy box history, and your actual sourcing data make the decision. Curious where everyone is at right now. What category are you spending the most time sourcing lately? And what part is giving you the most trouble?

This is something I’ve been wondering about lately too. I’ve been focusing heavily on storefront stalking, Keepa filters, and building a seller ID database for Amazon Canada, mostly targeting lower-review sellers since I seem to find more ungated products there. But I still feel like I spend a lot of time filtering through junk or overly competitive listings. Curious what people further ahead think I might be doing wrong or overcomplicating.
