@Christian Joseph I feel you bro i updated my 2019 to Mac OS TAHOE 26.4 and it’s been slower so I think ima roll it back to MacOS 18 lol I was supposed to give it to my girlfriend if maestro sends an upgrade.

@Jordan Cincotta I just rechecked the insight website and the only Neos in stock are the blue ones and from what everyone is saying you get a standard silver device so that’s probably why they aren’t shipping colored devices because male/female color preferences and all that so I believe you are correct and we are lucky demand is high and in turn we will all get M4s most likely. I’ll let everyone know the details as I just signed my agreement today.

More Laptop Conversation
Apparently Maestro is no longer providing MacBook Air M4. They have pivoted to the MacBook Neo, which I am definitely concerned about. If you aren’t aware, the Neo uses the A18 chip and base model only provides 8gb of ram. This is less than what’s in my IPhone 17 pro max. Kind of disappointed as this is clearly a money saving initiative. The MacBook Air was perfect for what we are doing in regard to specs and cost to the university. Maybe I’m overreacting, but I don’t feel great about this. Let’s use this thread to chat once we start receiving our computers and maybe share what we are doing to make up for the lack of specs.

MacBook
Okay, so, has anyone never had a Mac before and experiencing a major learning curve? Holy crap you'd think I've never touched a computer before. It's just a different user interface I guess. Control is the command key and I don't know what the Mac's control key is for yet. It's honestly like a little better version of the Chromebook I was using, but nothing like the old HP I had. I guess I just have to play around for a while lol... I did get signed into everything I needed though. Second question - the school email they gave us. That's just to get discounts and stuff, right? Is anyone using that as their sign in on anything? I'm still using my regular personal one...

@David Williams me too, I have a 2019 MacBook Pro core i9 16GB 1TB SSD already so I was really hoping that the school one would be an upgrade in speed for me. it’s an awesome laptop and when it was new it costed around $3k but the M processors just blow everything else out of the water.

@David Williams I actually wish I had gotten the i7 because sometimes it heats up so much it be scaring me 🤣🤣 but yeah it’s def a beast. I just recently within the last few months upgraded it from Catalina to Tahoe, but I think I’m gonna roll it back to sequoia

Microsoft 365
Is anyone else running into problems when they try to sign up for the Microsoft 365 student account? I put my email in and it says account not allowed.
