Happy Monday! Life Update 🌿
I hope you guys are all having a great start to the week & also to the year so far! I've had a lot going on these past couple of weeks. After taking some time off over xmas, I thought it would be good to pack the bookings in for January. Not totally considering the fact I'm putting a lot of my energy towards this group right now. Also added to that I'm trying to take over a studio space in Whistler & finding most week days start with emails from the real estate agent & my lawyer that need attention. I'll be honest - I love my work so much, I have a tendency to not take much time off. I love feeling productive & appreciate all of the fun stuff I have going on. Well this morning overwhelm struck! I realized I had a day of drawing planned, more emails in my inbox & a head full of community ideas. I'm normally very good at keeping a clear head, but this morning it all felt too much. So I did this - I sent two important emails, then put my phone away. I closed the book with my drawing list & decided to reschedule the work. And I went for a walk. I took my wife for coffee, then offered to pick my kids up from school. I didn't realize how much I needed a day off. So the important lesson I have to sometimes remind myself is to find space. Space in the day, space in my week. Space just to absorb & process everything that's going on. We all need space to be creative & progress isn't just having your foot on the gas. One of my goals this year is to free up my schedule & find a better flow to all of the work I'm doing. What are your main goals going into 2026? ✨️

This is a great reflection. I have felt tjis many time. And what i have found is to balance and schedule in all aspects of your life. Including rest and down time. This way we can be intentional with our down time. Not just wait till we feel it catch up and a sence of overwhelm. When we include it in our day, week and month, whether it is just a movie with the fam and loved ones, or daily meditation. We need to schedule rest just as much as we schedule drawimg rime, tattoo time, growth and productivity
