Why should I choose you?
So I have a question for you. Hypothetically speaking, you and your competition are bidding the same project. You come in within a few dollars of each other. Customer asks, why should I choose you? You and him have the same warranties and are the same price and have been in business the same. You are equal on paper. Why you? What do you say?

Happy new year 2026!
What are some of your goals for 2026? For me it’s 2 installers, 2 vans, 1 helper and over $800k revenue

Great goals David!
Finding a Target Market
Hope you all are doing well. I’m working around the DMV and Baltimore area, but I’m also looking to figure out where else might be a good spot to focus on for things like panel upgrades, battery installs, and EV charging. Basically, I’m trying to get a read on how you all figure out the best markets to work in—whether that’s here or somewhere else entirely. If you’ve got any tips on how to scout out profitable areas or identify where the demand is hot for electricians, I’m all ears. I’m not tied down to just one place, so I’d love to hear how you guys choose your next best market.

Looking for those type of jobs specifically is asking for low margins. Why not just find heavily populated areas with high numbers of single family homes and market electrical services? Once there, do free safety inspections and work to offer options with troubles you find like panel upgrades. You won’t be competing on price and you’ll have better margins.

renewable energy installations
I want to offer solar, battery, EV Charging, panel upgrades and generator installs, and I’m looking for some guidance. I’ve done these kinds of installs in the past, but it’s been a while, and I want to get confident with the process again. I’m also figuring out how to offer these systems to clients, whether as a full install or in phases if they’re on a budget. So if any of you have tips on where to get refresher training—maybe from vendors or other resources—or how to break down and present these offers to customers in a simple way, I’d really appreciate it.

@Alfredo Ortega ever watch their commercials? They sell them super cheap. Not a ton of money. You can make some but you aren’t retiring anytime soon. Lol
