🌙 Saturday Night Fun: What Are Your Horse’s Nicknames?
🤩 Tell me… Do you have nicknames for your horses? I’ll go first: Lenny also known as: • Lenny the Licker • Bubbles • Lennykins • My King Benjamin is also known as: • Mr Floof • Unicorn • Bennykins • My Prince • Back-breaker (because he's so small 😅) Your turn 👇 Drop the names, the sillier the better. 🤣 🐴✨🫶

Roan's real name is Rodriquez, which doesn't suit him at all, him being big and red and not from Spain or Mexico. So when we had just bought him we called him William of Orange or the Red Castle and we considered keeping either the name William or Red. But I changed it into Roan and we just call him Ro now, that really suits him, plus we like short names. When I call him on the paddock I use Ro-ro.
🐴 What Did You STOP Doing That Made Your Horsemanship Better?
We’re always talking about what we need to add. More relaxation. More confidence. More consistency. More suppleness. More exposure. But here’s the twist… What’s one thing you stopped doing that actually improved your horse? Sometimes progress doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from removing pressure, ego, tension, or overthinking. So tell me 👇 What did you STOP doing…that changed something? Love Zoë 🐴✨🫶

I suppose I gave up trying to be perfect with my horse. It nowadays just try to have fun with him, laugh about the things that go wrong, and just try again. It is sooo much more relaxed this way and what was I trying to prove anyway?
💚 Why I Don’t Rush Young Horses...
...but I do suggest starting to get things done, implemented and understood as young as possible. Why? Because they need the time to understand. So the sooner things are explained to them, the sooner they will understand compared to for example, others who were not. Speed creates reactions sure, might even look like the finished product but it rarely is and shows up later, whereas time creates understanding, and confidence and lower expectations being met with good ones. A young horse who is allowed to grow into their work, physically and mentally becomes the horse who lasts. And longevity will always matter more than quick results. What’s something you’re choosing not to rush right now? 🐴✨🫶

I suppose I need to slow down with my groudwork for the moment because with the current low temperatures, my Roan is filled with a yehaa let's move feeling and only wants to go fast while I try to tell him to slow down and concentrate on the things we're doing. So I'd better laugh about it and try again next time.😄😂

Last Sunday I really felt rather successful, because when I went to work with him, I told myself that we both had only one task that day: manage his yehaa, keep on walking with him and not plant my feet in the ground and end our session with him trotting calmly on the hoefslag. And we both did very well with that task. I suppose my intention towards him was clear, I managed calming him down on both my voice and on breathing out. So I was very proud of both him and me and it gave me the confidence that I can manage his yehaa this way.😄

💪 And we’re currently sitting at #172 in Discovery. All organically. No Ads. No podcast promotion (yet). Just a website update, a few social posts/stories, a couple of reels with a CTA… and you. That honestly means a lot.🥰 This space is growing because of engagement, curiosity, and people who genuinely want to get good with their horses. And that’s exactly how I hoped it would grow. As we expand, I thought it might be nice to open the floor a little. You can find most of my background, career highlights, and story on my website here: ABOUT Zoë, but I’m always happy to answer questions more personally. So I’m curious, do you have any questions about: - my journey with horses? - my career path? - mistakes I’ve made? - lessons that shaped me? - what I believe now vs years ago? Nothing is off limits (within reason 😉). If you’ve ever wondered something and thought, “Maybe I’ll ask one day” - this is your moment. Let’s talk. Love you 😘 🐴✨🫶

I'd love to know more about Mia. I know that there was big love between the two of you, but also that she wasn't easy. Was she the reason that you started your journey with horses?
😍 Hi peeps - heads-up for this weekend...
...I’m away at Spoga Creator Days this weekend in Germany. 🤩 I’ll be leaving home tomorrow at around 5am and will probably be crawling into my hotel bed around 11pm, so I won’t be very active here on Saturday. I might pop in on Sunday if I have a bit of energy once I’m home. If you feel like chatting amongst yourselves, sharing thoughts, or supporting each other while I’m away, please do. And if you have questions, know that I’ll come back to them. FYI - This community is doing so well where we’re currently #198 in Discovery - which honestly makes me smile. 😊 How cool would it be to reach the top 10 this spring? That can only happen through engagement from you and from me but no pressure at all - it’s already special as it is. I’ll post the Weekly Wins later tonight so we’ve got something lovely to carry us through the weekend 🌈 Thank you for being here and for making this space what it is. with love, Zoë 🐴✨🫶 spoga horse CREATOR DAYS » partnering with SehrwieViel
