Singing, and Full moon circle
Hi everyone, I hope you have enjoyed your day today. I went to my choir practice today, which is always a guaranteed mood booster! I sing with a group called Maisie's choir which is located in Yass in New South Wales for those of you who are not local. It is an older person's choir but they do open it to others who are interested. I think that 80% of the people are in their 80s, I am definitely the youngest at 55 and I absolutely love it! One lady's 97 and I really think that she is secretly 79 and just says she Is 97! She's incredible. Next week we are having a performance at a nursing home. We're singing three African songs and I'll be playing my Djembe along with them, which they all think is super cool and I love their reaction to it. We're also singing a few songs on the theme of stars, such as catch a falling star and swinging on a star. I'll try to take a video because it should be a lot of fun. Do you ever sing for fun? I really find that one of the best ways to feel good and science has even proven that singing in a group boosts our happy hormones. For another guaranteed mood booster, you might like to join in our full moon online Drumming Circle, this coming Sunday, 25 October. Head to the Classroom to sign up if you want to join - and remember you don't even need a drum to participate and enjoy. 💕 We will be reflecting on gratitude for all the things in our lives, singing a few songs and drumming for joy. I'd love to see you there!

I too sing with a wonderful community choir. The conductor is 82 and average age is 75. So I'm a relative youngster😂 singing is good for your soul, helps ward off dementia and is great to tone the vagus nerve. And it is energising and fun. So what's not to love?
New moon drum circle - thank you
Thank you so, so much to the six beautiful souls who joined me last night for our first New Moon drumming circle. Wow, I was blown away by the insights and the power of our drumming and singing. Together we wove intentions for ourselves, our community and the world. We drummed for ourselves, to call in freedom, calm and simplicity, including the freedom to make the choice to take that deep breath when we really need it, to invite calm into our lives. We drummed for healing for the women in our communities who have been screwed over by the patriarchal medical system, ignored and shamed and mistreated, for the healing of the female psyche. (Boy, did that one bring out some anger!) And we drummed for peace across the world, recognising our fellow humanity, and that we are all part of the whole and not separate, and that we all have enough of what we need. The next drumming circle will be on the Full Moon, 25 October. Head to the Classroom to sign up if you want to join in next time - and remmbemer you don't even need a drum to participate and enjoy. 💕 (ps @Imogen Ingram @Eli Haski @Heather Richmond @Kirstie Chalker @Angelika Erpic @Sue Mackenzie , your recording is available in the Classroom where you joined the drumming session.)

Week 1 of qigong, and upcoming drumming circle
Hi and thank you to those who joined me for qigong this morning! Despite some early fog the sun came out just in time. Your recording can be now accessed in the Classroom. If you didn't enrol but would like to, you can still access Week 1's recording and the remainder of the 6-week term. Just head to Classroom · Mood Boost and click on the qigong link to pay. If you want to join in Sunday's New Moon drumming circle then head to Classroom · Mood Boost and click on the New Moon Drumming link to pay. Remember you can use any type of drum, and you can even participate if you don't have a drum - you will get the same meditative benefit. Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine today!

Such a great way to start the day. I would highly recomend these Qigong sessions. Glad they are being offered again.
Morning view - what's yours?
Here's two morning views as I have my coffee - looking away from my veranda to the farm across the road, and looking towards my veranda at all the pile of crap that's supposed to be being cleaned up! I was only going to share the first photo, but I've been thinking how everyone just puts the nice view on social media and we never see the alternate view. Or you could think of it as the fantasy view and the realist view. I'm sure you can guess which side of the table I sit on as I'm drinking the coffee! I'd love to see your morning views. Please share a photo of either your fantasy view, your realist view, or both! (Click on the paperclip icon to attach pics.) While you're here, if you've been thinking about giving our online qigong sessions a go, there's still time to sign up on the classroom page before tomorrow morning. If you'd like to try it out first, there are plenty of free short Qigong sessions in the Mindfulness course on the classroom page. ☯️

Spent the morning in our beautiful garden adjudicating bird fights - with our aggressive noisy minors harassing parrots and top notch pigeons. But the garden looks amazing. Looking forward to a nice calming qigong session!
