Niche within a niche?
Hello all, I have an odd set of skills that I'm not sure if they merge on one channel. I"m a Naturopathic doctor, and I've been in oncology for the past 20 years along with general health issues (think family practice) and got burnt out. 8 years ago I shifted into fertility. Do I post just on fertility? Is that too small of a niche? Or do I go broad and general b/c as a primary care giver, I am well versed in several issues (ie) autoimmune disease. So confused what to focus on. I treat almost everything.... sigh... Any help in orienting me in the right direction would be so appreciative. Many thanks!

I would suggest if you want to create a centre for cancer and chronic disease survivors then make your channel about that. Tie your dream of building the centre to what you know. Talk about your dreams for it, why it’s needed, document your progress along the way. And when in comes to medical advice talk to that same group of people.
Afraid of the camera, but I'm working on it
Hello from Canada. I'm a transformational coach for midlife women. I have a lot of fear around being on camera (which I'm working through) so don't have many talking-head videos yet: 4 long form and about 30 shorts. I have grown my channel to 2.4k subs by creating empowering music that inspires change. I've had a few of my music videos get traction, but mainly everything I put out sits with low views, despite a decent amount of it having good CTR and retention. So I'm just (im)patiently waiting for YouTube to start actually showing my stuff while I continue to upload into the void.

@Mimi Negron I'm having to emotionally detach a bit from my channel. I heard you get 1 good video and it pulls your channel up but that doesn't seem to be the case at all. It got me monetized but it's success hasn't rubbed of on anything else. I have one video around 231k, another 21k, another 4k and another 1k and the rest just a couple of hundred if that. I've done some analysis and realized YT is still trying to find my people. I'm a midlife coach using music to attract women to my business, but YT showed my 21k video exclusively to under 35's and when I reviewed the lyrics of my 231k song I realized they just spoke to validating the listener, it did not speak to the woman who actually has a desire to make changed (and hire a coach). So right now I just have to think of it as feeding the machine data to work out my audience and not taking the analytics personally. You can have a great video but show it to the wrong people and it won't do well, show me a MrBeast video and I'll scroll on by.

@Sahra Pak I see your niche is midlife women too. I do keep my 'why' at the forefront of everything I do. As for my skin issues on my face, I decided to not to push through because I realized it was my subconscious telling me I was not ready. So I wrote a whole bunch of songs about how my voice was suppressed and how I was ready now to walk a different path. I did save picture of how my face looked so I can share them later when I talk about my story of finding my voice. I see you are just about to get started, best of luck.

I would swap the order of the wording of the last option ‘Pamela White Retirement Redefined’ or ‘Retirement Redefined with Pamela White’

Number 3. It’s the only one I feel works. We can’t have zero stress, people’s minds will reject it as they sense it’s not true. While technically stress free does also mean zero it’s much more subtle to the mind and doesn’t provoke such a reaction. Reverse is a little cryptic.
Teleprompter on an iPhone Tips?
I wrote my first script! Eek! It’s a 2-3 paragraph intro followed by a bulleted list for an exercise I will guide the viewer through. It’s too much to memorize so I’m thinking of using a teleprompter for the paragraphs, and taping the bulleted list up. Does anyone have suggestions for how to use a teleprompter on an iPhone so it doesn’t look like I’m looking far away from the camera (in horizontal mode of course)? Any recommendations for the best free teleprompter app? ChatGPT said some allow you to set the words closer to the camera. Also, anything I should know about how best to tape up the bullet points? Thanks!!

I use this one, it’s free. It saves the video to your phone camera roll but it’s mirrored. Remember to reverse the video before you start editing it. It took me about 12 shorts before I realized I was mirrored.

@Cynthia Baker I don’t have a remote. I’ve just been using it to read my poetry so they are straight one shot pieces.
