Celebrating small wins
I made a commitment to myself that I would do my best to post one video a week when I started my channel 5 weeks ago. Last week I was exhausted from a bunch of stuff, but I took that as an opportunity to create my first short, which was fairly easy and led to me learning how to use CapCut. 👏 This week threw me so many hurdles like my computer majorly overheating! (Apple said to leave it off until I can bring it in but it was Xmas week so unlikely to be a quick fix, ugh). Plus there were epically loud storms here for several days, which isn’t conducive to recording and also caused major connectivity issues. But I managed to persevere (and computer didn’t melt)! I’m realizing that YT is really a long game/ongoing journey kind of thing so I really try and celebrate all the little wins along the way. I got a couple new subscribes these past two weeks too. It’s humble beginnings (as expected), but it inspires me to keep going. A YT teacher I watch said if you just keep creating there’s no way you can’t succeed, it’s only a question of when. So, I’m approaching it with that attitude and enjoying the process of creating. I try to Improve one thing each week and next I want to learn audacity because I think improving my sound would help a lot. Oh, another recent big win was that I finally found a remote that works with my teleprompter app, which will be a huge help! Happy Holidays and happy creating! https://youtu.be/GmkEFuXViL0?si=8ByWh5EAwSdvQohp

I’m proud of this one because it’s about cultivating compassion for oneself and others, including people who may trigger us. I think it’s so important to remember our shared humanity in these divisive times. 💜
✨ Holiday Gratitude Check-In ✨
Before we rush into the next goal, the next upload, the next milestone—let’s pause for a moment. Gratitude for how far you’ve already come. Gratitude for every viewer and subscriber who chose to spend their time with you. Gratitude for YouTube being a free platform where we get to share our thoughts, skills, experiences, and stories—without permission, gatekeepers, or limits. It’s easy to normalize this. But zoom out for a second. We’re living in a time where we can connect with brilliant minds all over the world instantly. Learn from each other. Teach. Build. Create impact from our living rooms. That’s not small. That’s extraordinary. Today, just take a breath and acknowledge it.You’re not behind. You’re participating in something incredibly rare—and powerful. Grateful for this space. Grateful for this community. Grateful for you all and wishing you a happy holiday season.🤍

Thank you! Happy Holidays!
Launched! + Giving Thanks
I’m beyond grateful to Alexa and this community! I’ve been quietly laying the groundwork for my channel for months and finally launched 9 days ago. Since then, I’ve posted 3 videos, gotten 65 views and 8 subscribers. 👏 More importantly, I’ve learned a ton, my confidence has soared and my commitment is beyond. I don’t think I’d be doing this if it weren’t for coming across Alexa’s videos. I’m really inspired and excited to see how much I can serve people with my tools for cultivating calm, clarity and purpose. Much love to you and yours during this season of giving thanks. Thank you Alexa!!! Here’s my gratitude meditation video. :)

@Arden Varnel thanks! Sounds like you are well on your way! No I haven’t seen that video, I’ll check it out. Each video is taking so much time and energy so I’m trying to be patient and gentle with myself. Getting one done a week feels like a huge accomplishment. This week I plan to do my first one using bullet points instead of a script. Each new thing is such a big learning curve. I saw a YT teacher who has a million subscribers say that she realized how strenuous filming is when she got an Aura ring (or something similar that tracks vital signs) and she had a really high strain score during filming, higher than working out, lifting weights etc. And she’s a seasoned pro so that was normalizing! :) I’m sure it will get easier with every rep and of course the faceless meditations are much easier so I’m glad I can do those when I need an easier week. Best of luck!!
Recording your first video
Hello all! I am trying to make my first YT video. But I have to tell you once that camera turns on it’s like I do not know what to say even with an outline already pre-written. So I thought maybe let me write out my words and use a teleprompter…I did that but it looks and sounds so fake. Why can’t I get over this hump? I need a mind reset here and I’m looking for some feedback to work with. Thanks!

Alexa has a video about this in the 30 day challenge that’s running right now. Called something like how to not be awkward on camera.

@Dolly Marketakis you’re welcome! Between her 30 day challenge, the classroom tab inside Skool and all Alexa’s other content, it really feels like a free master class to me. So grateful. 🙏
Can we all chat about niche please?
I started my channel 22 days ago and so far I have posted 22 videos as part of another challenge (I hadn't found this community and Alexa before hand) and I'm starting to think about once I've finished the challenge and what I will be posting without having a daily prompt. Everyone on YT is saying how important your "niche" is and I'm starting to worry that I don't have one at all. I have had many jobs and owned businesses in many different genres, but I honestly don't feel qualified to talk about them in my videos...(even though I probably am!!) I just don't know where to start... anyone have any help or advice please? Thank you... and sorry for the ramble!

What were your videos about? What would you love to talk/teach and keep learning about? You don’t have to be an expert. Alexa wasn’t when she started but she took her viewers on her journey of becoming one. If you have multiple interests could they fit into one theme and then you could have playlists/content pillars for each topic. Are you trying to create a business from this?
