Audio Editing Advice Please!
UPDATE: I was able to get enough feedback that I felt comfortable moving forward with scheduling one of these. But I’m still interested to hear advice on efficiently getting quality sound. I didn’t get into this wanting to spend hours trying to adjust sound quality. I just wanted to share some things that might help people, but this one felt like it took over my life. I’m grateful for all the support in here. 🙏 ORIGINAL POST I’ve been trying for two days to get my audio track to at least be good enough, but I don’t think it is. Originally, after I did my usual adjustments in Audacity to bring up and balance the volume, it had a hiss. So, I decreased background noise in Audacity which fixed the hiss but now it seems like S and T sounds are too high. I have sensitive hearing so maybe it’s acceptable to others, but it’s meditation so I don’t want it to sound irritating to anyone. ChatGPT suggested lowering a certain Hz point in Audacity’s filter curve EQ but I can’t get it to work. When I click on the line and drag the dot that appears, the whole line moves down instead of just that point. I did apply treble cut which helped some. I also have two (unlisted) versions of the audio and can’t tell which is better because they sound different depending on the device. I’ll put the second one in comments. If anyone can give feedback or suggestions on how to fix this and which version is better, I’d sure appreciate it! I love this meditation, so hoping I can get the sound to do it justice. I think my crooked teeth make my Ss whistle even more! LOL. Ack. Also wondering if I shouldn’t have done lossless recording option in VoiceMemo. I’m very new at this and have a cheap lav mic. TIA!! 🙏 https://youtu.be/mipK8X4Dp-g?si=FFL_I5DG88g6QPU2

@Steven Forstner thanks so much for trying to help. I was able to get enough feedback on it to decide to move forward with scheduling one of them. Phew! I deleted the other one.

@Magdalena Raivio oh thank you so much for the feedback and encouragement! That is very reassuring. I think I must have unusually sensitive hearing. I do think my voice fits naturally with this kind of content so it’s more my comfort zone, unlike when I do talking head videos and I have a harder time projecting my voice, enunciating and such. Practice, practice. :) Best wishes in your continued creative endeavors!
VidIQ Subscription worth it?
My channel is only a month old (but I’m in it to win it). ;) VidIQ is offering 55% off a monthly subscription forever (including Live Feed). Do y’all think it’s worth it? I’ve been using the free version for titles, descriptions, and looking at outlier videos, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten. I use chatgpt (and myself) for title ideas and then see how they score with VidIQ. It’s been helpful (although views are of course low at this stage), but it’s also time consuming to do it that way and they only give one set of title suggestions per day with the free version. I think Alexa also recommended comparing both VidIQ and Tube Buddy keyword analytics, but I haven’t gotten that far. I’ve also seen several YT teachers recommend Descript, but I don’t even know if that offers title/keyword help. I’d love to hear your experience. TIA!

@Anica Amphlett wow! Do you think it’s helped with your growth? I learned it can also make a bunch of shorts to choose from from long form videos which would be a huge time saver.

@Anica Amphlett no but I use the free version. I will probably try paid at some point. I’m glad you’ve made progress with it. I don’t think I’d be able to do what I’ve done so far without chatgpt. This is a steep learning curve. 😅
No Live Call this Week - I'm injured
Hello everyone. I have a neck injury and I have been put to rest (no computer work). So this week's call will be cancelled. Let's reconnect next Thursday. Have a wonderful rest of the week.

That was very engaging and entertaining! It was all so relatable and it’s so true that you just have to do things that suck to reach your goals. I think the chapter titles could have been on screen longer. I didn’t have a chance to read some of them (I’m a slow reader but think they might be too quick for faster readers too.) There was a glare on some of the shots. I like your natural lighting. I laughed out loud at multiple points. Like the little videos on screen while you were working out were so funny, and also things you said. You seem very natural in front of the camera. There were so many gems in here I thought it could have been broken up into multiple videos. Maybe people would be more likely to subscribe so they’ll catch the next video to see how it turned out? Idk I’m new at this, but just a thought. The end cards are covering your face. You can move those to the side (even after publishing in case you don’t know). I didn’t love the part about hoes but I may not be your target audience. ;) Overall great video!

@Roman Bellic you’re welcome! I thought of your video today: yep, here I am doing things that suck on the way to crushing my goal. :) Keep creating!
Creator Boost tribe has been an interesting journey...
But, perhaps for me the community is too big. I kind of feeling a bit like drowning... Perhaps I'm not at the right place. Not because I haven't learned anything, but I need a more personal approach. So, I'm considering moving to a smaller community. Also, I get the impression that this community is not so much for beginners like me, starting from ZERO. SO, THANKS TO ALL. Take care and wish all the best!

Definitely lots of people starting from zero like me. That’s what Alexa’s channel topic started as and continues to be about to some degree like the 30 day challenge. Some are just getting going or haven’t started, and others have grown with her or had already been at it a while. Sorry to hear you feel like you’re drowning. YT can definitely be overwhelming. It’s much more involved than I ever imagined but it’s a passion project for me so that keeps me going. I hope you find what you’re looking for!
