Whoopsies...
Life handed me an unexpected lesson in my own medicine this week. After yoga class, I fell riding home and broke and twisted my pinky finger. I'm now in a fairly dramatic hand brace, and I've got a specialist visit next week — fingers crossed (the ones that still bend) that we can avoid a full cast. So here's the irony I'm sitting with: I teach rest and restoration for a living, and now my body is asking me to actually practice it. I'm leaning on Yoga Nidra to help my nervous system settle, support the healing, and keep me company through the discomfort. It's humbling and kind of beautiful to be on the receiving end of the work. A practical note: Tidal Hearts Yoga Nidra won't release tonight as planned. The fall caused some technical difficulties on my end, so I'm giving it the time it needs to come out right. Thank you for your patience. If you've got a prayer or a good thought to spare, I'll happily take it. 🙏

Blue Moon in Sagittarius ♐️
"Now, I'm no longer alone Without a dream in my heart Without a love of my own." A Blue Moon only comes when the month is brave enough to hold two. Tonight a Blue Moon rises in Sagittarius. Two full moons in one month. It doesn't happen often... and when it does, it feels like the month has been asking you to expand twice. We started May under the Flower Moon, blooming, sensing, and beginning. We planted seeds at the New Moon in Taurus. And now we close under a moon that's rare... because it is. What opened for you this month? What shifted, even just slightly? What question is still sitting inside you? This is a perfect night to practice. To lie down. I love this! Sometimes I fall asleep. Then the next time I skip the beginning because I luckily get into the nidra state very quickly. Eventually I managed to listen to the end. Definitely a firm favourite! Thank you!!!
State One | The Rooted One
"I'm so tired. But even when I lie down, I can't seem to actually rest." If you've said something to this effect, even just to yourself, I want you to know I hear you. And I want to share something that might bring a little relief. What you're describing has a name. In the yogic tradition, we understand the body as the first and most foundational layer of our experience... the Annamaya Kosha, or the food body. When this layer is struggling, rest feels impossible even when we desperately want it. The nervous system stays switched on. Sleep doesn't fully restore. There's a kind of bone-deep fatigue that just seems to linger no matter what you do. This is the state of the Rooted One — someone whose body is asking, very quietly and very persistently, for permission to feel safe. This is one of the five states I've been mapping in my work, and it's where so many people find themselves without ever realizing it (OVER 38% OF YOU)! The exhaustion feels personal. It feels like a failure. But it's actually the body doing exactly what it was designed to do (protect you) and just needing a little help learning that it's okay to stop. WHAT UNDERSTANDING THIS CAN OPEN UP FOR YOU When you can recognize yourself in this state, something subtly shifts. You stop fighting your body and start listening to it. Even simple things... the way you breathe, the way you transition into rest... begin to feel different. Sleep becomes more accessible, and that low hum of tension starts to ease. New moon in Taurus — what does your body want to plant? A new moon in Taurus is one of the most grounding lunations of the year. Taurus is earth. It's slow, sensory, and embodied. It asks (not your mind, but your body) what you actually want to grow? This isn't the moon for big visions or ambitious goals, although it does love luxury! It's the moon for gentleness.
